Run for office, city council, state rep something local where you can get your ideas to take hold. The reason progressive ideas die is because they are killed at the bottom! You can't win top down. Bernie has great ideas, but he doesn't have a grassroots group of elected officials to hlep him.

The Bernie folks keep hammering that those of us who have worked in Democratic politics forever don't get it. Yes, we get it, we just know how it works, we know we have a lot of work to do at the local and state level. Get busy and things will change, not in the time it takes to get a drive thru hamburger, but it will change.

We fucking did.

Hillary didn't have a cake walk and was backed by big money.

Bernie just had the people and he still got super fucking close his first time.

So what is it now, ya'll get to come into the Bernie group and shit on everyone too?

but redstatebluegirl - your comment is so insensitive and comes off as supercilious in the context of this group. There is no more GD-P. Remember?

The reason why things don't get done is that people buy into the Reagan meme that the government can do no good. Then people vote for these folks, who, when in office, go on to prove it.
We have been working from the bottom up for at least as long as i have been doing my thing for the Dems. I have run for office, I have sat in on town, and county meetings, and given my opinions. I write the local papers at least once a month.

These ideas are not killed from anywhere but the RepubliCONs, who have a "god" in Reagan, who they can pull out of their posterior at any moment.

Funny, but the local Democratic party conspired to do everything in their power to remove me an the others in what used to be a "majority" in our municipality. Change does not always occur when taking into account TPTB in our local crooked law enforcement and a series of job opportunities within our good old boy network.

Unless you served yourself with personal examples of how "getting busy" will enable a grassroots movement and are willing to explain it here, you just may not have a clue as to what you are talking about.

It takes a movement of people within a party platform who can enable local officials to provide a base from which to grow into a new economy.

No divisive group attacks
Do not smear, insult, vilify, bait, maliciously caricature, or give disrespectful nicknames to any groups of people that are part of the Democratic coalition, or that hold viewpoints commonly held by Democrats, or that support particular Democratic public figures.

I presume your post was intended to provoke Bernie supporters into responding in kind. I don't know how you think insulting and disrespecting Bernie supporters will attract us to Hillary. Perhaps you're more interested in insulting and disrespecting us than in helping your preferred candidate?

I kicked it a bunch Saturday, but in fact, missed this.

By the way, guys, I just signed that very strange ToS, which made me feel a stranger in what should not be a strange land here. Glad we have the Bernie Group.
