Ouch! PBS Newshour's Politics Monday contrast Bernie's and Hillary's styles

SUSAN PAGE (USA Today): ... And, also, his (Bernie's) manner. She (Hillary) has got all kinds of problems in looking approachable and looking like she’s a fully-fledged human being. And he’s all — he’s just totally approachable. He’s 100 percent authentic, approachable Bernie Sanders. So I think the contrast is not helpful to her.

TAMARA KEITH (NPR): Yes.

GWEN IFILL: Go ahead.

TAMARA KEITH: I was just going to say that when I talk to people out when I’m reporting, they say things like, gosh, Bernie Sanders is just so real.

And it creates that contrast with Hillary Clinton, who has been in public life for so long. She’s had her picture taken so many times that she has that smile down just right. And Bernie is just out there being Bernie. And so it does create sort of a stylistic contrast for people.

The below is just a small part of it:

On the Republican side, the pressure, the squeeze seems to be brought on Republican candidates by one Donald Trump, who, because of what he said in his announcement about Mexicans and many of them being rapists, even though he’s sure some of them are OK,

... It took a while. It took a week for other Republican candidates to come out and to be critical of him, even though this is very bad news, I think, for the Republican Party in a general election. ...

(and more, highlighting how long it took before any of the Republicans (Jeb first) to push back on the Trump comments... and various on the other candidates ... just one more segment: )

TAMARA KEITH: The interesting thing about Scott Walker is that when he was running for reelection in Wisconsin, he was all about, I can be a blue state governor.

Now he’s running in Iowa, needs to win Iowa. And his preacher’s son, social conservative side is coming out more than it did in that reelection not that long ago.

GWEN IFILL (moderator): Candidate’s got to do what a candidate’s got to do.

3. Wait until the campaign goes on and HRC is forced to mingle with the

unwashed masses. Polls will change every time.

4. Yes, I think Bernie is building some serious momentum in this campaign.

By the time the primary season is in full swing in about six months, he's going to be a juggernaut. I analyzed the poll trends for the last quarter and found that Bernie's upward trend line SHOULD cross Clinton's downward moving trend line around February or March 2016.

Like many of you, I'm crossing my fingers here, but I'm really beginning to believe Bernie can pull this off. My wife and I are donating to Bernie regularly and will help his campaign more directly when the time comes.

9. He's truly a piece of work. Fortunately/unfortunately I don't think the Repukes

are dumb enough to nominate someone quite this blatantly nutso and toxic, though Sarah Palin wasn't all that much saner.
