A Heads-Up for Bostonians

Responding to the MASSIVE support people are feeling for Sen. Bernie Sanders, we've been forced to move outdoors to Dewey Square Park, across the street from South Station! Even without Bernie in attendance, this grassroots movement is UNSTOPPABLE!
---
Across the USA thousands of people have been inspired by Bernie Sanders' call for a political revolution and the possibility of a new kind of politics free from big money and big business. Come learn how YOU can take part in building a new movement that fights for health care, a healthy environment, free education, a $15 minimum wage, and a green jobs economy!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A grassroots, independent group called “Boston for Bernie” will be holding a rally in support of the independent Vermont senator's presidential campaign, to take place in Dewey Square at 7pm on the evening of July 14th. Organizers have been awed by the huge response to the event, with hundreds across New England saying they plan to attend.

“This won't be just an event where people will stand around and listen – it will also be a chance for people to get involved and speak about what issues the campaign should be focusing on.” said Edmund Schluessel, a Somerville resident who is organizing the event. Scheduled speakers at the event will include student, labor and minimum wage activists, and a representative of the Black Lives Matter Movement. Break out groups will discuss actions to support Sanders 12 point issues. Affinity groups are encouraged to form!

Boston for Bernie is a group of engaged citizens unaffiliated with any political party. It works with the independent nationwide People for Bernie network, which itself has origins in the Occupy movement of 2011. "All are invited to engage in creating a new narrative for our country," said Juliann Rubijono, the East Boston artist who founded and manages the group. "Boston for Bernie is a resource for volunteers to connect with one another and feel empowered to take action."

The rally will take place at 7pm in Dewey Square Park, which is located between Congress Street and Summer Street and Atlantic Avenue. The Dewey Square Park is easily accessible by Commuter Rail from South Station or Red Line subway from South Station.
