I misdialed a number on a volunteer form (couldn't read the handwriting) and when I introduced myself as being a volunteer with Bernie Sanders campaign the person I mistakenly called said he liked Bernie, so I gave him our facebook group and he joined our event!
I am thinking cold calling dems might get a lot more people to become volunteers!

These are the organizing meetings that are being set up all around the country...should be at least 1000 of them...on July 29th.
Go to Bernie's site, Attend Events, plug in your Zip Code and then you can see the groups and which ones have space.
(actually, I was curious...so looked myself and there are 3 listed in Duluth...one is full but the other two have openings.)

(Jaysus. I had typed "Oreo" because that's the kind I have on hand right now and I love them, but changed it because I thought people might take it politically. I really mean the cookie, folks. Literally, the cookie.)

(45,251 posts)While Al Franken was battling over the results of his first election, I was posting on a very small message board named after him. I had some spare money, so I called his campaign to donate over the phone. The person who picked up the phone sounded young and groggy, as though I had just woken him. He also sounded very bored. I gave him my info.
When I got to my town, he got so animated and happy. He could not believe someone was calling all the way from Boston to donate. I told him about the Frankensense message board and he got even happier. I am willing to bet he shared that story with others and enjoyed the rest of his day. Also, as he got happier, so did I, so it was win win win.
Point is, you never know what will energize a volunteer. Someone like you, with all you have to deal with and the difference a politician like Bernie could make in your life. could be a great inspiration to those volunteers.
