Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumDana Milbank disses Bernie
In a very negative column, Milbank calls Bernie names, and claims that Bernie will not register as a Democrat. First of all, I'd like to know how he knows Bernie has not/will not register as a Dem.

This kind of punditry is so common these days. Let's make an issue out of "wild-hair"!!!??? Gimme a break!

(173 posts)The only reason I see his column is because it is in our local rag. They will print a variety of columns, balanced between Krugman and George Will. I almost never agree with Milbank, but this is the kind of crap that will be written about Bernie.

(16,371 posts)It's a well done opinion piece. Is this place going to become like the Clinton cave where the slightest commentary about the candidate is perceived as dissing and trashing?
I doubt if I'm the only one to hope not.

(173 posts)While I certainly consider this a term of endearment, I suspect it wasn't intended to be. I'm not thin-skinned, but is this really how we want the issues to be framed? Well done opinion pieces should not contain thinly veiled condescension.

(16,371 posts)So you actually believe that a journalist tagging Bernie a "wild haired socialist" is indignation worthy despite the fact that he acknowledges being a democratic "socialist" and that he obviously has unruly hair?
Certainly this is a great place for separating fact from fiction about him, but sticking our fingers in our ears, closing our eyes and singing lalalala whenever there's a critique of his actual political. weaknesses is not going to help him. It's just making us look like shameless toadies ...like the Hilary group come off as.
Just sayin'.

(8,352 posts)But the lie that Sanders is not going to register or run as a Democrat is acceptable to you?
He came out on Sunday stating he would do whatever it took to be in the Democratic party in every state.
Why should I even consider this a 'well done opinion piece' if the writer is already communicating a blatant and easily fact-checked lie?

(7,499 posts)Keith Olbermann and Milbank had a falling out that resulted in Milbank being ousted from Countdown. He is an egotistical fool and his opinion is meaningless.

(8,267 posts)the more pathetically obvious are Bernie's detractors. Bernie has already gotten a record number of donations from the Hoi Polloi. We are aware that he is more representative of us than the corporate shills maneuvering for the nomination.
I say, GO, BERNIE!!!!!!!

(4,482 posts)In the May 19 primary for judges, the Democratic ballot will look like this:
Democrat
Republican
Democrat
We need to inform the public that the middle person on the ballot is a Republican.
