Do you feel that this nation is in crisis?
Do you feel shock that, across this country, people are being harassed and beaten and in some cases killed, in this day and age, by the law enforcement authorities who are supposed to protect everyone from harm, because of the color of their skin?
Do you feel rage as you see the right to vote being stripped away, for no reason, from hundreds of thousands of people, across this country, none of whom have done anything to deserve having that right questioned or taken away from them?
Do you feel sickened that ALL of the gains of the freedom movement, a movement whose work has never stopped, a movement in which hundreds of people were beaten or killed to win what is still so far just partial freedom for people of color, are now at risk of being overturned?
Do you feel heartsick that, after almost twelve years, we still do not have all of our troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan?
Do you feel incredulity that many in Congress are actually talking about getting us into even more wars in the Arab/Muslim world, wars that would be endless and unwinnable?
Do you feel horrified that many of our leaders are trying to pass even MORE trade deals that would ship jobs away here and weaken the rights of working people everywhere else?
Do you feel repelled that the Supreme Court of this country has ruled that letting billionaires buy elections is “free speech?
Do you feel that politics, policing, and economics are being done TO you, not by or for you?
Do you feel that, no matter what you want, no matter what you hope for, what really matters most to our leaders today, even those leaders WE elected, are the wants and the needs of those writing the biggest checks to their campaigns?
If so, you are not alone.
And you don’t have to just live with those feelings.
We don’t have to simply accept that things must be this way.
We can change this nation and this world.
We can reshape the lives we lead.
We have a candidate for president this year that calls on all of us, from the bottom up, to work together to re-balance the scales of justice in this country, and this world.
…who will stand with us, on the campaign trail and as president, in the struggle to make the world we need.
…who will work to help all of us find our voice, to find our way, to make this a nation in which the survival of us all, the needs of us all, the wishes of us all, the goodness and possibility of us all can at last prevail.
A candidate who believes that no one should live in fear.
...that no one should live in want.
...that no one is expendable.
...that all of us, not just the privileged few, should make the economic decisions in this country.
…that the dreams of the many, not the greed of the few, should be what shapes the future of this country and this world.
…that our hopes and ideals do not have to be checked at the door of power.
His name is Bernie Sanders.
He fights for us…and he calls on us to fight for ourselves.
Let’s make this the People’s Century. Support Bernie Sanders in 2016.
