You might add he's been working on it for 20+ years, unlike some posers we could mention....

and has something to show for his efforts.

I wonder if there is support amongst the House or Senate or Party. I'd hate to think he's doing it all alone, with us. Of course, once it becomes obvious which way the wind is blowing, he'll have friends in abundance amongst the reputed movers and shakers.

hold an office until 1981.

Not only is he doing it alone, with us, but he is doing it while being systematically undermined by the Party and his colleagues.

I believe the Party not only missed a huge opportunity, but is shooting itself in the foot.
