The goal is to help Sanders reach small donors online and harness the energy of liberals who want an alternative to Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Democratic race.
Sanders' campaign said Wednesday that it was hiring the Revolution Messaging firm to run online fundraising, social media and digital advertising. The firm's leader is Scott Goodstein, who developed social networking and mobile platforms for Obama's 2008 campaign.
Among the other former Obama staffers employed there are Arun Chaudhary, who worked on the new media team during the 2008 campaign and became the first official White House videographer.

During the 2008 campaign, Obama's digital operations revolutionized the ways candidates could reach voters and gather personal information about them through social media and other platforms. Clinton has also hired several veterans of the Obama campaigns, including Teddy Goff, digital director for the president's 2012 re-election campaign.

(68,644 posts)Things are going well, I'm not particularly happy with the DNC call for not more thank six debates, however.
In 2008 there were 26. This year only 6?
Screw them.

(55,981 posts)It's upsetting but not a surprise. The DNC and Wash DC Democratic Power machine wants Clinton. IMO they "talked" Sen Warren out of the race. Probably explained that without their help she wouldn't win the nomination. A threat like that wouldn't work against Sen Sanders, who has, again IMO, decided to go "all-in". Good for him but he will be fighting the DNC.

(11,785 posts)to boycott them. I can imagine O'Malley doing it, and perhaps Sanders, but Webb? Then again it doesn't have to be a complete shutout. If the only people on stage are Webb and HRC, it won't look good. Not sure that non-Clinton campaigns could afford to buy TV time to host independent debates, but there's the web. If the League of Women Voters could be persuaded to get back in the debate business, real debates (not soundbite competitions) could be webcast from some college auditorium.
