1. In 1931, pro business Republican Pres. Herbert Hoover, like his two GOP predecessors did little

to nothing about the Great Depression wreaking misery and devastation worldwide. At one point Hoover thought of calling in the Red Cross (? not a 'natural disaster'), then he supplied the wealthy with money at the Top, thinking it would 'TRICKLE DOWN' to the poor. NOT. Repeated by Reagan fifty years later- 'Voodoo economics'.

Finally Pres. Hoover's labor Secretary came up with a scapegoat idea to deflect the real source of the Great Depression crisis. Action began in Los Angeles and the southwest US to target and intimidate hispanics blamed for taking away American jobs. Thousands were told they had to leave by train for Mexico and there was no more govt. funded nominal food and relief for them.

It was an abomination and cruelty strategy that's been used throughout history especially in times of economic and social instability. We're witnessing it again today, tragically.
