http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2015/09/11/3700620/hillary-clinton-pulpit/

This Sunday could be more than just a homecoming for Hillary Clinton. Speaking from her deeply rooted faith not only allows her to speak authentically about her faith, it directly confronts the issue dogging her campaign so far: belief. Voters need to believe in Hillary Clinton for her to win. They need to believe she didn’t intend harm with her email practices. They need to believe she shares their values. Voters know she has the intellectual ability and experience. But they need to believe. And for that, Hillary must take us to church.

I think Hillary has been listening to some almost criminally bad advice. The numerous incarnations she's had, the off-balance messaging...it's like she has some GOP mole inside her campaign dying to ruin it. She went from being derided for her "I'm not staying home and baking cookies" remark as the candidate's wife to sending boxes of household items to donors.

This is what happens when you've been stage-managed so carefully for the past 25 years that you are no longer your authentic self, but a reaction to polling numbers and market research.

"authenticity" and rather than doing what I think she ought to do- namely, switch gears and start coming out with actual proposals on concrete issues that people are interested in- as opposed to the mushy pablum she's put out so far- they instead decided to go this tired-ass Bob Shrum route of loudly proclaiming religious faith, and yes, going after the mythical "values voter".

Here:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/acts-of-faith/wp/2015/09/13/hillary-clinton-showed-up-for-church-today-will-faith-help-or-hurt-her-on-the-campaign/

http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2015/09/11/3700620/hillary-clinton-pulpit/

I suspect this sudden uptick in "messaging" about Hillary and faith is related to 4-5 days ago her people talking about "rolling out" more "authenticity", and to my mind it fits in perfectly with the crappy way she's been running her campaign to date, and it bodes ill for it EVER improving.

I like Sanders, I like what he's been saying, and now I support him for President. EOM.

Is she going to buy a ranch in Crawford, Texas too? That is exactly what the idiot-in-chief did - he all of a sudden found religion (after Rove showed him how/where/what/when) and then ran out to buy the ranch in Crawford so he could be from "the heartland" - a regular guy.

Then immediately sold the prop ranch when he left office. Now Hillary's taking a page from Rove's playbook. Sickening.
