CNN Will Live Stream Democratic Debate in Virtual Reality

CNN and NextVR will make history on October 13th by hosting the first-ever live stream of a news event in virtual reality, giving viewers a front-row seat to CNN’s 2016 election debates.

The network is partnering with virtual reality technology platform NextVR to stream the CNN Democratic Presidential Debate live, in full 3D immersive virtual reality, from Las Vegas, NV.

The live stream follows CNN and NextVR’s first virtual reality experience at the CNN Ronald Reagan Debate, where it quietly filmed the highest rated event in CNN history in virtual reality to make it available to users on demand. This experience is now available to users who have a Samsung GearVR virtual reality headset by visiting the NextVR portal in the Oculus Store. Once downloaded, the debate can be seen from the perspective of an audience member at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library...

than what my TV Guide says, even though I like it less.

I find it interesting that the information is both conflicting and hard to find.

Kinda like somebody doesn't really want people to watch....

Thanksgiving and Christmas when people are sure to be doing something other than watching television.

The favoritism on display for one of the candidates in these "debates" is stunning and blatant. Democrats should carry pitchforks with them when they attend - except that I'm betting the audience will be hand-picked by Debbie so that one candidates' supporters are in far more supply than the supporters of the other four (or five).

But I'm trying to set up a watch party, so it would be kinda nice to know the time. And I find the fact that I don't, that information is so sparse on the ground, and that this VR thing is being touted so energetically over plain ol' streaming verrrrry interesting.

Call me paranoid, but I wouldn't be surprised to see issues with the streaming, and see it blamed on the VR.

It definitely leaves out the poor folk to only have it on pay per view, which is what internet and cable are, in the end.

don't forget to list it on www.berniesanders.com website in the "Events" page. You can limit the number of people and choose to have them rsvp directly to you. The reason I'm saying this is last Friday I was on a conference call with the campaign and they are trying to have as many Debate Watch Parties as possible listed on their Events page. I know in California it's scheduled at 6:00 pm.

Or will we get short squibs of Hillary looking in control and Presidential?

With even shorter squibs of Bernie with his mouth open?
