I care who wins the primary and Americans. I don't care who won the debates or the polls.

IMO, Senator Sanders and his supporters have always had their work cut out for them and they still do. The first task is to get the name and positions of Senator Sanders before as many people as possible. The next is to make sure they are registered to vote in the Democratic primary. The third is persuade them to vote for Senator Sanders in the primary.

The task is harder than ever before. Arrayed against him/us are the plutocrats, the DNC, the media, etc. Comparisons to Obama are invalid because Obama had behind him people like Reid, Pelosi, Kennedy, Daschle, Kerry, et al and therefore the media (at least as far as the Democratic primary).

While I wish that posting on message board could do the job, it won't. It's a hobby and/or an addiction, not activism. Even attending debate parties with other Sanders Supporters isn't going to get the job done.

We have to call and email everyone we know and invite them to ask us questions. We have to get out in the real world and pass out leaflets, campaign buttons, voter registration forms, etc. Some sources for leaflets are in replies on this thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1280&pid=63830

Marym625's Bernie Group wrote this one themselves and another DUer did the Spanish translation: http://www.democraticunderground.com/

We have to donate and encourage others to donate. Omaha Steve's ActBlue link: https://secure.actblue.com/contribute/page/duforbernie

Back to the polls and pundits. There is no poll, no pundit, nothing that is going to change my support for Senator Sanders or change the reality of anything in this post. We may enjoy discussing those things on DU, but that's about it. IMO, further discussion is highly unlikely to change a single vote on DU. If it's fun for you, great for you. I am not trying to make anyone's life joyless. But, again, our work is cut for us. Some of it can be done on reddit, facebook and twitter. Most of it has to be done away from a keyboard.

It's Sanders Saturday at least one day in every week. Go for it!

Much better than some of my posts where people miss my subtle or not so subtle points. My last one, not so popular I think, but you are right, that post was a hobby, thinking about the campaign and what is really happening which is really good stuff.

I usually spend about 20 or 30 minutes here, and to contribute via OS's ActBlue page. The rest of my free time is about influencing and I am making progress/converts.

I also need a moment to put my bumper stickers on!

However, I have also been doing the other things and will be out leafleting and passing out campaign buttons after I post this.

I think sometimes winning a debate on DU can feel like life or death, but I really can't think of a needle it moves IRL. Still, it's no crime! And I do think keeping each other informed and encourage has value. Your posts on precincts, for just one example, were excellent and full of useful information. I just don't want people to lose sight of the fact that we have to keep putting one foot in front of the other, no matter what.

through ups and downs. Sometimes, we can all get on such a high it can cloud thinking and worse ACTION. The media's primary objective EVEN with the news is one thing: TO SELL MORE SOAP. They want high drama, they want high ratings, they want to charge more to sell soap, lots of it. That means, its just mostly entertainment or at best infotainment. Forums like this get used to wage wars, to demotivate, to get people to quit. They also get used to fire people up too.

The Bernie Group, helps me get fired up. I avoid almost everything else.

I AM feeling the Bern, not feeling the Chafe.

Time to get that sticker on.

Not only do we need to get the word out to people about Bernie Sanders. We need to keep our eyes open on who is running, who will be a good legislative branch partners for Bernie, progressives he can count on to.
And rally around these people, let them know we have Bernie's back and theirs. That it is time to stand tall as progressives.

Anyone else a good candidate?
Where we we take seats away from republicans with progressives? We need to be very public about our support. We need to be vast. We need to ride the populist wave of Bernie Sanders and get as many Congressional seats as we can.

Bernie has always said he would run as a Democrat, we need to have a workable infrastructure within the Party to offset the Third Way.
Join the Party. Flood the party, Every single borough, village, township, city, county, state, and regional organization. Recruit everybody.
As far as going to the extremes of people we are all to frequently compared to (the tea'laban), I don't think we need to consider primarying any third way'ers yet. But I want to make sure we get a candidate in every race. Leave no seat unchallenged.
Too often we don't field candidates. That is wrong. DO not take the concept of gerrymandering = unbeatable, we well maybe surprised.

I wish Franken would stop voting for cuts to SNAP, but no one's perfect. I donated to Franken when he was fighting that recount.

I'm for members of the Progressive Caucus that Bernie founded and chaired for its first 8 years, especially Ellison and Grijalva, who endorsed him. Not so sure about the double dealing Gutierrez, but, luckily for both of us, I don't live in his district. I would be willing to donate to a lot of members of the Caucus, if they were in a close race, but not him.

depending on what the definition of win is they probably did. She accomplished what she wanted and so did he.

So lets keep on doing what we are doing and get our man elected.
