Bernie Sanders to make weekend trip across Iowa

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders will make a three-day run through the state later this month to speak with Iowans about their concerns, while also addressing long-standing platform issues such as income inequality, global warming and supporting the middle class.

"He's done hundreds of town meetings in Vermont and he's doing many of them in Iowa now," said Michael Briggs, communications director for the campaign.

In late April, the U.S. senator from Vermont announced he was running for president. He's already made several trips to Iowa during this year's caucus season.

He's usually at his best talking to voters in one-on-one situations or in town hall meetings. He "has the time" for people and they respond in a positive way.

His opponent, as we saw in 2008's sharp polling decline in front of the caucus, seems to have the opposite effect on voters in a retail politics environment.

Isn't Iowa a state where the voters want to get up close and meet the candidate?
Plus the caucuses should/could work well for him.
