Sanders is saying that one household's kitchen is a national model. And that the national focus should be on all those millions of kitchens.
I remember when Poppy Bush could not tell reporters the then-going price of a gallon of milk. But people in those many kitchens could have answered that question.
Many people understand politics in these terms because their way forward depends wholly on being paid a living wage, for example. We certainly aren't hearing the GOP field talk about living wage issues and economic impact.
