(687 posts)All I did was point out that HRC was leading in the polls in 2007-2008 and it didn't get her the nomination.
So telling the truth using actual facts got me banned.
Very telling of the group.

My phone didn't let me know that it was the usual post in their group and I got banned. I feel better for it and I'm sure in their shared belief system they are glad too that I can't chat.

I am a PoliSci continuing ed student, a staunch Democrat who will vote for the Democrat's nominee, and a NEUTRAL.
I have NOT taken any sides between the candidates, yet met the hammer this morning.
This is the first community that I have ever been banned from, since getting on usegroups in the early 1990's.
I am an EFF supporter who apparently has a different view of censorship and community.
I will still post neutrally, even though there is an effort to alienate neutrality.

(1,192 posts)All the big bad nasty Bernie supporters are making them hate Bernie, while anybody who criticizes their candidate is a "Hillary hater." (Isn't that funny? They can't find a reason to hate Bernie, so they're bitter and going after his supporters instead)
Is it only me or are they behaving like a mean little schoolgirl clique? They want her no matter what because she's all that. And anybody who doesn't like her just don't get how fabulous she is -that she's hated because of all the haters out there hating her because she's all that.

(3,795 posts)It is OBJECTIVELY not true ----> Fundraising, how the Democratic Party has done under her tenure, and this ridiculous primary season that is fracturing our Party.
It is fracturing our party, and the only people who could think that is a GOOD thing are Republicans.
I've had the HRC Group hidden for a very long time.

(223 posts)I was banned from HC group on Nov. 29. Apparently it was for a comment I made countering a post that stated that when HC was Senator all New Yorkers wanted was safety. Since I was a New Yorker during that time, I pointed out that the poster did not speak for me or my friends.
I always try to be polite and factual in my posts.
My final paragraph, in the post that resulted in my being banned, was: "Yes, she [Hillary Clinton] has done good things, too, but I don't think she has the determination to do what needs to be done to put this country back on track and to make the right choices in crises. I voted for her once. I will, but I really hope I don't have to do that again."
If that type of comment can get a person banned, I think the current purge has crossed the line and the sensitivity of the Clinton supporters is losing them more than they could possibly be gaining.

(14,704 posts)Why even go there? I think your ban solidifies the argument that HRC and DWS are joined at the hip. Criticizing one = criticizing both. I will never even peek into that group.

(7,231 posts)Hence my OP. But at the same time, I feel energised to become more outspoken. The mind is flowing with alternating zest and ideas.
As for why I went there: keeping in touch. We are being told over and over that divided we fall and the GOP gets to ruin the country when that happens, right? I guess some don't want to keep the GOP out of power.

(45,984 posts)I agree with you that DWS is toxic and if I were Mrs. Clinton, I'd see about replacing her immediately if not sooner. Yes, she puts her thumb on the scale for Mrs. Clinton and no, the DNC Chair is not supposed to do that. Ms. Wasserman Schultz' high handed treatment of the data breach is simply embarrassing, mostly to herself but also to her own favored candidate.

(4,695 posts)If she becomes president, I think that she will be a sitting president receiving a challenge from progressive democracy in 2020. I heard campaign promises moving to the Left from Center, from Clinton, in last night's primary debate. I think that Democrats will continue to discuss broken campaign promises of Barack Obama, which has been acceptable here on DU for several years.
We know that the voting base of the GOP is getting smaller. The GOP is going over a cliff. Will some in politics pick up, or continue picking up the conservative privatization for profit, especially with Citizens United around?
How about those big banks and Wall Street bankers that all three candidates talked about stopping, last night at the last primary debate? One of the three candidates was really talking a huge move to the Left, from a previously stated Plan.
Now that the Democratic Debates are over, looks like the Primary is now moving to the internet to compare Plans. I would like to take some printouts to Uncle Bob's house, for the holidays.
Adding on edit: I got banned too after stating that a Hillary Clinton Supporter contacted me via my private email address with out my permission for its use to ask for me to support a 1%er and donations, on the day that the DNC allowed the firewall to drop.

(2,107 posts)I've been banned from a group too. It's easier to just go through, and hide the posts from the enclave groups. That way, you won't reply to something that comes up in the 'latest posts,' thinking that free speech exists there.

(10,539 posts)When I was banned I didn't know I was replying in the HRC group (my bad, but in my defense, I never had to look before either). I will say that I went off on HRC (justifiably so), so I guess I deserved being banned from a group who will only look at their candidate through rose colored glasses.
While I am a Bernie supporter, I try to look objectively at his actions, statements, and overall conduct. I don't succeed 100% of the time, but do the best that I can to stay objective. In preparing a case for trial, it is good practice to try to look at everything form the viewpoint of, "What will an average jury think of this?" I try to do the same with both Bernie and HRC with the "average" voter.
My average voter is unfortunately not very well informed, and is quite often, mis-informed. This is the reason that Bernie feels the need to keep pounding home the same limited message in his rare TV appearances. There are so many who hear him for the first time, each time he has an appearance, he has to hit the high points. If he was covered to the extent of a Trump, or even HRC, he could have the luxury to dig deeper into his issues.
Being critical of who you support is every bit as necessary as for someone you don't. Sadly, too many are quick to excuse weakness or failures. They overlook critical issues that don't make their candidate look good, it's a part of human nature. The HRC group seems to take this to a new level though. I, like most other banned members, am proud to be kicked out of such a myopic, insular group!

(6,482 posts)It wasn't true then, but what I am hating now is the anti-democratic position of the DNC and DWS. They do not serve the people of this country. They are serving a single person. We have primaries to make sure the candidate has the full support of the people who constitute the party. That's how you win the election. What's happening now is foolish and short-sighted and ultimately self-destructive.

(2,941 posts)severe fashion or the power base will be made to feel uncomfortable.
Hillary is rich enough to do the wrong things and survive as an elected official. That's why so many right-wingers like her, in spite of her toxic idiocy on Iraq War, prisons, Wall Street, etc
Many people are not secure enough in their own beliefs to support right over wrong. So they simply go with who they think will "win" regardless of the consequences.
If their choice wins, they feel like winners and are willing to disregard the foolishness of their choice.
What a shitty state of American politics - choosing between two political dynasties sworn to fuck over the middle class and below.

(3,226 posts)I was baned for suggesting it was not in HRC's interest to go after Bernie's family. I was and am still on the fence and just wanted to give advice to keep us from tearing each other apart, it seem like that group only wants to talk to themselves, while that is fine and fair they are missing the opportunity of expanding their base by banning anyone whom they feel is not %100 for HRC
it seems that "big tent" the Democrats always talk about really isn't that big. It's also a poor way to win an election.

(5,787 posts)I was banned for telling them how I attended both a Hillary and Bernie rally in Des Moines. It's pretty amazing to what extent they won't tolerate anything but praise of her there, not even sensible analysis of her positions or history, and then have the nerve to complain about how UNFAIR the rest of DU is to them.
Betty Karlson
(7,231 posts)Frankly, it is surprising it took me so long to become their enemy, given the propensity of Clinton supporters to label any critic of The ANNOINTED One a right-wing nut-job.
Here's is the remark that got me banned: "Clinton could be the figurehead of one more election lost by DWS. She needs to disown DWS as soon as possible."
I guess the new meme is that DWS is doing a swell job being neutral because her performance represents the majority of carefully selected respondents in bought and paid for 'real' polls.
If so, I am proud to be among the banned. I think DWS is bad for the party, and on the erge of damaging it in irreversible ways. Any candidate who cares about the party should insist on her resignation. Only those obsessed with winning at all costs could still have confidence in DWS - as they are the only ones to enjoy DWS's support.
I'd be too moderate a person if I weren't banned. To be outspoken is to be banned? - Let me just take my gloves of...
