Bernie Sanders staffs up in Massachusetts, opens state headquarters

Bernie Sanders’ campaign confirmed to Boston.com the hiring of seniors staff in the Bay State, first reported Tuesday by State House News Service.
Paul Feeney joins the Vermont senator’s Democratic presidential primary campaign as Massachusetts state director. A former Foxborough selectman, Feeney was most recently the legislative director for IBEW Local Union 2222 and the labor director for Rep. Stephen F. Lynch’s unsuccessful 2014 Senate campaign.
The campaign also hired Joe Caiazzo—a Boston-based Democratic strategist, who worked on Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s 2012 campaign—as state communications and political director and Andrew DeStefano—a former financial representative and Massachusetts AFL-CIO communication coordinator—as the campaign’s state field director.
The Sanders campaign is also officially opening their Bernie 2016 Massachusetts headquarters January 2 with an open house event. The new state headquarters are located a 89 Cambridge St. in Charlestown, near the Sullivan Square MBTA station.
