1. Well we seem to have Rachel Maddow.

Who's a big Bernie fan. Kinda funny though, considering how Hayes looks like a male version of Maddow. I mean, it's kinda creepy how much they look alike.

5. The male version of Rachel

is SF Giants' pitcher Tim Lincecum, dead ringers.

I also used to love Chris Hayes. He's hanging out at all of the best parties with the winners of the world, has to be respectable for that scene, the dress code alone weeds out the liberals. Also he's working on assignment some as a newsertainment reporter, rather than just doing a political show. His squad car rides and sympathetic police reporting in the context of some of the recent killings of black people was hard for me to take. I used to find him insightful, but anymore that's very rare.

In fairness, it's pretty clear that since Comcast bought M$NBC, the people remaining are the ones who were willing to swallow a fair amount of their professional pride in favor of maintaining their careers, or who already fit within Comcast's permissable range of views.

6. I expected more from Chris Hayes going from The Nation magazine to MSNBC.

He has compromised his Progressive values for the almighty paycheck. I honestly thought he would be different. Money talks, values disappear.

9. I've always had a love-hate thing with the Nation

I subsribed to that mag/paper/whatever for many years. Hitchens, Cockburn, Greider (yeah Greider), Van der Huevel (spelling by memory, apologies). People like Hayes and Ari (also on M$NBC) came later IIRC. I just took them as thought provoking, I often disagreed with their writing, though sometimes learned something.

But I thought they were pretty much the left side of the establishment, more a part of it than a remedy for it. They weren't very good on issues they labeled conspiracy theories (but that I considered evidence of conspiring) (Reagan's October surprise, Kennedy assassination denial, the dark entagled roots of 9/11) though I think they were good on documenting the war machine's industry and political ties, other things too of course, just saying they were not turning over too many rocks. Most of the years I subscribed were before the internet, so information was hard to come by.

And I like Chris and Rachel, but they're capable of doing much better and more vital work than what they're doing on M$NBC these days. Disapppointing for sure. Peace, love, and Bernie to you too.

I saw him do some nice interviews and comments about Bernie, figuring that he might be supportive.

Something changed? Pressure from someone or someones?

Too bad...I had some hope for him but guess that's not gonna happen.
