Mutts is my favorite, favorite, favorite cartoon, second only to the immortal Calvin and Hobbs.

(And here's a terrible personal fact: I do a Mooch imitation -- his little speech problem -- when talking to animals. Dogs adore it, cats tolerate it, people find it incongruent.)

The new polls should reflect Clinton's lurch to the right on single payer. With 80% of us supporting single payer I highly doubt her numbers have improved. We'll see soon enough.

rather than enthusiasm, somewhat like an army of ants. Nothing spontaneous, little joy, no vision, zero subtlety ... just "we gotta do this," blam, blam, blam.

I cannot understand their motivation. Best to deal with them on their own cold, pragmatic level -- and try to stay defended.

Not much fun.

As a pathologically pathological white man afflicted with white man pathology, though, I could be expected to say something like that.
