After convention spotlight, Martin O'Malley looks to future.

...'While he was in the governor’s chair, O’Malley espoused progressive issues, including backing a ballot initiative that legalized same-sex marriage in 2012.

O’Malley “accomplished a lot of groundbreaking things: same-sex marriage, repealing (the state’s) death penalty, and gun protection,” said Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh, a convention delegate. “I hope he stays active in public service.”

Joseph Kitchen, a delegate from Fairmount Heights, called O’Malley a “strong progressive champion,” and said the ex-governor would be a great party chairman.

“He is the person in the party who can get both sides to come together,” Kitchen said. “We need one person who both sides can agree with.”

Del. Brian Morrison of Bethesda said he thinks that having O’Malley as the next DNC chairman would be a “wonderful idea.” He added, “It worked for Tim Kaine to further his career.”'>>>

3. Absolutely. He got short shrift too. Is he lobbying for it?

I'd like to see him run again in four or eight years.

4. It doesn't appear to me that he's lobbying for the DNC

or any other position in particular. He has said he'd 'be happy to (my words)' serve in any position HRC asks of him.

I'd like to see him run again when the position is available and, hopefully, the same cast of characters is not in position to give him (or anyone) short shrift. Neutrality is, of course, the rule.

5. I believe that MOM would be

an outstanding DNC Chair!

But then he was also my first pick for Hillary's Veep. I've warmed to Tim Kaine since, but REALLY want to see MOM continue in some meaningful position on the national scene.

He will run again.. DNC chair.. Just does not seem to match his talents..

but he was known, as Governor, to have a way of encouraging compromise, which is clearly necessary as Potus.
