More Navy ships stop over on Guam for provisions

Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) arrived at U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG) for a brief stop for provisions and personnel, April 18.

During the port visit, eligible Sailors of the Makin Island ARG ships and embarked Marines will be allowed liberty to access select facilities onboard NBG. Base liberty is authorized in addition to food, beverage, Wi-Fi and recreational amenities made available pier side by NBG’s Morale, Welfare, and Recreation staff.

Sailors and Marines assigned to Makin Island ARG will not be permitted to depart NBG. While on base liberty, Sailors and Marines will still be required to follow all COVID-19 mitigations such as wearing masks, ensuring proper hygiene, and maintaining social distancing where appropriate.

The visit enhances safe liberty options for 7th Fleet ships based on the most current Department of the Navy and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention COVID-19 mitigations and guidance.

There’s a bad history of soldiers getting away with rape on Guam then being spirited out of reach of Guam authorities and the Guamanian’s are over it. That’s the story behind the story.
