'Seinfeld' star Jason Alexander jabs Ted Cruz with 'George Costanza'-inspired insult

Actor Jason Alexander lit into Republican Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas) this week after the politician said Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet's (D-Colo.) newly announced presidential campaign was a "Seinfeld campaign" because it's "about nothing."

“So @SenTedCruz has called @SenatorBennet a ‘Seinfeld campaign’, claiming it’s about nothing,” Alexander, who portrayed George Costanza on the hit 1990s sitcom, said in a tweet in Monday night.

“I’ve met Bennett. He is a great man and real choice for POTUS. As for Cruz - the jerk store called and they’re running out of you. I say, the faster the better,” he continued, making a reference to a joke used on the popular show.

His comments come in response to a tweet Cruz shared attacking Bennett last week, in which he said: "Michael Bennet’s campaign is a Seinfeld campaign—about nothing—that typifies the Left’s empty rage in 2020.”
