(58,785 posts)even bought a house, then work required them to move an hour away. I know what a wonderful gift that is for all of you.
Btw, Sunday I was part of a group (thank goodness) who spent 10 hours chasing a very happy year-and-a-half-year-old. After about 5 hours, sometimes when he fell he'd lie on the floor for 15-20 seconds maybe, and we'd be predicting he'd be crashing soon, and then he'd be up exploring again. At 4 in the morning he was caught by a fellow great-grandma trying to get out the front door. Nice that he presumably enjoyed our evening walk so much he decided to go for another, but!
Wish we lived closer.

(131,202 posts)The baby will have a 5-year old brother, who will surely explore his new house (AND the river and lake,) and introduce her to the world! And then go on to kindergarten so their mother can spend her time with baby AND house!

(58,785 posts)was born, and he was absolutely wonderful with her. The first time he was alone with her except for me, really looking at her, I literally saw him realize he was one of the grownups with us and she was our baby. Btw, later, after most of 20 years having not as much as we'd want in common, they had their first children, boys, 3 weeks apart, and started talking all the time even though they live 4 states apart.

(131,202 posts)I'm 5 years older than my brother, and tho we're geographically far apart, we're pretty close emotionally. I remember picking him up at the hospital, when he was born.

It's one of those 'flash' memories, and I don't know why; there are only a few.
