Okay, who agrees with Biden's idea that there will be a Republican "epiphany" if Dem wins. (poll)

Biden: Republicans will have an 'epiphany' after Trump leaves White House

Presidential hopeful Joe Biden said Tuesday he believes Republicans will have an “epiphany” and be more willing to work with Democrats when President Trump leaves office.

“I just think there is a way, and the thing that will fundamentally change things is with Donald Trump out of the White House — not a joke — you will see an epiphany occur among many of my Republican friends,” the former vice president said during a campaign stop in New Hampshire, adding that the GOP feels “intimidated” by Trump.

Do you agree? Take the poll.

republicans and the media will insist that democrats need to reach across the aisle and work with republicans, now is the time to bring the country together, etc.

but, yes, he's right, they'll be all about "bipartisanship" and "cooperation". meaning, that democrats should appoint some republicans to the cabinet and pass some republican ideas into law, etc....

In the hopes of not being voted out in another Democratic landslide, they'll say "Look, Joe Biden thinks that we're worth electing again."

I hope that by 2020 there are so few GOP politicians in Congress that it won't *matter* what they think.

I'll never forgive or forget Mitch saying that his aim was to make Obama a one-term president. The GOP is rotten to its core.

Tue May 14, 2019, 07:51 PM

The only way the Rethugs will move at all will be to take 6 steps further right, demand the Dems meet them halfway (so 3 steps rightward) then, after we foolishly do that, take one further rightward step and say, one more Dems and its a deal.

If we start trying to make 'comprehensive reforms' with them, the country will go full-blown corporatist oligarchy. It is a recipe for decades of disaster. Banksters and defence contractors, de-regulators and austerity ghouls gone wild.

Biden is delusional if he thinks he will get a fair shake out of McConnell and the rest of the RW. They have nothing but corpo-grift and rapacious erosion of any and all social welfare state underpinnings on their rotten little mind. They also will be 100% invested in destroying Biden so they can ramrod Tom Cotton or some other madman down the nation's throat in 2024.

The only hope we have is to take the Senate as well, and with Bullock (MT), Hickenlooper (CO), Susan Rice (ME), Abrams (GA), Beto/Joaquin Castro (TX) all saying no to Schumer and Cortez Masto that possibility is rapidly diminishing.

We can do comprehensive reform with them. There is no question about it. We must have the Presidency, the house in large numbers, and it has to be extremely close in the senate.

He is nowhere even near the nomination yet, and certainly not a lock to win the POTUS if the economy holds up and we bollocks up oversight over the orange bloat. I am young but I wasn't born yesterday. I NEVER count chickens before they hatch.

Biden has an outdated view of the modern political landscape IMHO.

Joe Biden: "I like Dick Cheney, for real. I think he is a decent man."

Joe Biden’s Paid Speech Buoyed the G.O.P. in Midwest Battleground

The former vice president's address in October helped Fred Upton, a vulnerable Republican, win re-election in Michigan.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/23/us/politics/biden-speech-fred-upton.html

snip

But Mr. Biden’s appearance in Michigan plainly set his lucrative personal activities at odds with what some Democrats saw as his duty to the party, linking him with a civic group seen as tilting to the right and undermining Democrats’ effort to defeat Mr. Upton, a powerful lawmaker who in 2017 helped craft a bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

snip

Finally, it is ludicrous to think that a Rethug Senate will pass bills that move the nation 'to the left', unless you are going to give me some plazzy version of what 'left' is.

"Republicans will have an 'epiphany' after Trump leaves White House"

This sounds like a big gaf to me.

Sheer nonsense -- harmful to liberal causes -- comes out of this man's mouth.

is that Trump gets ten of thousands of people killed
he crashed the economy

in other words he puts the GOP Senators seats in jeopardy

but since the 30% conservative base are fanatics and they think they are getting Roe overturned...........not a chance in hell.

So what is the point of this poll.
Another chance to attack the old white guy?

If the Pukes don’t have some sort of wake up then we are screwed for more years.
Happens no matter who is elected including dump.

Joe may not have friends in the Senate, he does in the House and the World. That beats any other candidate.

Biden will be Hillary 2.0 or a one term president if he does win and not by choice.

January 2021 will give us a new Congress and no Trump (hopefully). The current Senators who are afraid of losing their seats for dissing Trump will have far less fear with Biden.

We've already seen how the turtle managed to screw over Obama, but will he be able to screw over Biden as easily?

Biden's not my favorite, but it's not a problem seeing him voice hope in a campaign speech.
