Do you think it helps our cause if our 2020 candidates accept invitations to do a town hall on Fox?
In some ways I think it could help our candidates get seen by a significant portion of the population who might not otherwise ever get to see and hear them.
OTOH, I think it's cool how Elizabeth Warren, for example, rejected their invitation and pasted Fox by calling them a "hate-for-profit racket." That was sweet. Kamala Harris rejected them in similar fashion, too. I've thought about it a lot, and I still don't know if it helps our cause or not, so what's your opinion on this?

1. I voted other, it depends on the candidate; his/her policies and how
the town hall is conducted.

2. It is beyond reason given their track record, that Fox would suddenly become magnanimous
And fair.
Every perceived "good" a Dem candidate could possible hope to achieve in a Fox Town Hall would be immediately undone by the prime time crazies. Quite frankly, Liz nailed it in her response. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Undecided |

4. We are not beating back Fox, one way or another.
It’s a campaigns choice and they will do what they feel is best for their campaign. They know if the do a Fox town hall that it will be pretty favorable. Fox uses them to legitimize their network. If they don’t do a town hall on Fox I think they should be as bold as Warren.
I’m really happy the DNC will give them no debates. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

5. It doesn't matter. It's a decision for the candidate to make, if they are confidante
they can handle it, more power to them. If they don't want to go on Fox that's fine too. This is only an issue here because Bernie appeared on a Fox town hall, and he did well. In the real world, no one cares.

6. IMO, refusing to do one just makes you look scared. Many Fox viewers are NOT trumpers.
Especially since two candidates have already done them and had no problems. Hell, Sanders townhall was almost like a rally.
Refuse, and people will ask "what are you afraid of, a tough question?" The town halls and any debates wouldnt be hosted by the opinion hosts, they'd be handled by actual newspeople who have a record with many networks. But she's free to do as she likes too. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

9. Good points. Plus, refusing might be perceived as you're not so interested in unifying the country
as the candidates who accept an invitation from Fox to do one. You never know how this stuff will be perceived one way or the other.

Can tune in during the debates, and get to know them that way. It's not that hard for them to actually turn the channel away from fox, is it?

8. Democrats shouldn't be giving Fox exclusive content...
that Fox can use to calm nervous advertisers.
If Fox wants to cover the Democratic candidates, they can attend rallies and speeches. Sid ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Undecided |

11. It legitimizes Fox and it tarnishes the candidate.
All Democrats should avoid Fox News. Fuck everyone else. (And FUCK Susan Sarandon... and anyone else who legitimizes Jill Stein or Stein voters or Stein supporters.)

Elizabeth Warren is right about legitimizing Fox news.

13. I think they have a duty to talk to Fox viewers.
They’re running for president of all the people, and Fox is all that some of these people watch. That does not necessarily require a town hall format.

Now that is convincing. Well said! Even though most Fox viewers won't be voting in the Democratic Primary, I think the point you made is excellent. After reading your post, it makes me think more about voting yes.

16. There are two reasons not to do it
1. To get a headline that they aren't doing it and present it to those on the left that really hate Fox.
2. They and their campaign are scared to do it. I want someone who isn't scared to talk to the other side and try to pull a few of them over, we need some unity, not division. Who cares if they are biased, our policies should be strong and appealing enough to hold up under the scrutiny, right? Free airtime is free airtime to make your case. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

17. Fox should not be legitimized.
It is not a news agency, but rather a propaganda wing of the Trump/Republican party. It always has been. Warren is correct that it should not be legitimized and treated as a bona ride news organization.
