The View: Whoopi Goldberg is reading her announcement about DiBlasio running for president.....

....and she can't keep a straight face. She's running all over him! Well worth looking for the video later today.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

That's why we won't support him.

2. Yep. He's not horrible, but certainly not a very good mayor. I don't get some of these guys.

... becoming a "national progressive leader" than his duties as mayor. Of course the best thing he could have done for the progressive movement is to focus on his mayoral duties.

He sees this small town mayor getting all the hype and it deflates is ego.

Normally I would dismiss the mayor of South Bend and take the mayor of NYC seriously because I am a big city elitist however as a New Yorker I know de Blasio.

He must have thought that Pete would get no more than one or two percent, and would disappear from the contest early on. It must gall the hell out of deBlasio to see how well Buttigieg is doing, and he thinks he can steal a bit of that thunder.

Got news for ya, "Big Bird", Mayor Pete is likable, and you're not!

8. You're So Right - My Main Concern Is NYC's Financial Health

I generally support the idea of wealth taxes. However, there has to be limit. All we have to do is look at what happened a few years ago when France raised its top tax rate to 90%.

Some experts predict that, were DiBlasio to secure the nomination, the City of New York would be nearly bankrupt during the general election cycle, due to reduced revenues from real estate vacancies, caused in part by the spike in taxes, and a parallel bump in spending on social programs.

I am socially liberal but fiscally conservative. Too many politicians on the left see their election as a mandate to spend, spend, spend. The real answer is balance: aggressive spending on social programs but only when the books are balanced.

Fiscal democracy is still democracy.
