Buttigieg's townhall starting now on FOX.

Cheering crowd. Should be interesting, since his platform went up on his website recently.

I'm watching on livenewsmag because it's one step removed from watching directly on FOX.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

It's not about reaching Fox viewers. It's about Fox using content from Dems to advance their business, so they can fund more racist shits like Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham and Lou Dobbs.

Yes, Democrats going on FOX do potentially help the network. And the network is gross. But I care much more about a democrat winning the presidency in 2020 than about I care about FOX gaining or losing a few advertisers, and like it or not, there are a fair number of people who watch FOX. Our candidates can either let FOX spin snippets of what they say, or they can watch and listen to our candidates themselves. I prefer the second option. But again, I do see both sides.

higher income tax, reasonable wealth tax, possible economic transaction tax since the transactions don't add to the nation's good, deficits can be useful especially if you're investing in something that will pay off later like infrastructure, but be honest about how you are paying for it. 10. What are you doing to better reach people of color?
Sun May 19, 2019, 07:34 PM
May 2019

Need to earn/deserve the votes of people of color.
Talks about years of engagement and policy work in Southbend to win trust, especially after the police chief episode.
There's not that amount of time now; speaking with faith leaders and other leaders in communities of color, not just to explain his campaign but to listen and allow his campaign to be shaped by what he learns.

Question: how do you break through compared to candidates of color and Biden who has a long track record.

Answer: Yes. It's not just to win, but to deserve to win. Says his record is competitive, but doesn't have those years where people have gotten to know him. Some people will automatically find their way to his events but it's important to reach to black and brown voters who are skeptical of people who come out of nowhere. Outreach and policy.

college affordability reaching crisis levels. His own household has six figure college debt. Can't go on like this. Education has been an agent for mobility. If you can refinance mortgage rate on house, should be able to refinance student debt. Should have more ways to work off that debt, like public service.

Pell grants massively expanded, pegged to inflation.

Would like debt to be zero if a person is lower income. Not prepared to call for no debt for the wealthy, but should be more ways to reduce or waive.
