***Sanders drops 10 points in latest A + Rated Monmouth Poll*** Big Joe 33 Bernie 15 Kamala 11

Last edited Thu May 23, 2019, 01:34 PM - Edit history (1)

Among a field of 24 contenders, Biden currently has the support of 33% of Democrats and Democratic-leaning voters. This marks a small increase since he entered the race, from 27% in April and 28% in March. The rest of the field is tightly grouped below the clear front-runner position. Sanders has the support of 15% of Democratic-identifiers, which represents a decline over the past few months from 25% in March and 20% in April. Harris has 11% support, similar to 8% in April and 10% in March. Warren stands at 10%, compared to 6% in April and 8% in March.

and is down to only 26% in the early states, and Klobuchar and Booker are gaining a bit.

I think IF a candidate is going to eventually overtake Biden, it will never be Sanders, and will come from one of those others listed, especially Harris or Warren. Stacey Abrams is the only wild card (candidate wise) left to either declare or say definitively 'not this time'. She would eat into Biden, Harris, Bernie, Warren's and Booker's numbers the most. Probably put the coffin nail into Bernie's campaign as well. AOC endorsing Warren would also doom Bernie. I would LOVE to see the NON DU Berners reaction if AOC goes all out for Sen. Warren. They will shit themselves, lololol.

Like this:

While participating in a town hall meeting about economic justice, Sanders criticized the “business model” of the Democratic Party over the last 15 years. He reportedly said, as the Daily Dot points out, that many don’t see the Democratic Party’s failures because “there was a charismatic individual named Barack Obama. He was obviously an extraordinary candidate, brilliant guy.” He also pointed out how Democrats lost a record number of seats in the House and Senate during Obama’s presidency.

101. Lol and probably both. In name recognition polling,
Thu May 23, 2019, 06:22 PM
May 2019

1% hadn't heard of Biden, 2% of Sanders. The others were significantly lower.

So that explains a large part of why Sanders was doing so much better than more obscure candidates initially. People eager for election day to get here so they can vote against Trump were giving positives to virtually every name on the list, but ones they actually recognized got gold stars.

Now people are starting to look at the candidates. Other polls are showing these changes have been showing up earlier in early-primary state, where voters are looking closer sooner. Sanders is dropping on that polling also, as is Biden but more mildly and still way ahead; and as expected, losses from both are benefiting the next 3 or more candidates, but from Sanders especially.

Interesting to watch. Sanders of course comes with a small group of Sanders-or-Democrats-can-drop-dead types, so whatever their number is, his percentage presumably can't drop below that while he's still running.

primary today, I would vote for:

Thu May 23, 2019, 01:33 PM
May 2019

The importance of a candidate expanding President Obama's legacy: from very important to somewhat important =:

75% of those asked.

That by itself goes a long way in explaining Joe Biden's consistent poll numbers and why Bernie's numbers have been sinking. The Democratic/Democratic-leaning electorate wants a candidate to build on what we accomplished over President Obama's 8 years, not overturn the applecart.

Revolution is not a popular rally cry.
