I've been following him since the beginning of 2018 when he first started going out talking about his ideas. It's interesting to see how much attention he's received over the past month. He's a smart guy and I like the way he thinks. I'm looking forward to seeing him in the debates, because I think he'll bring some fresh ideas. Although, I'm still not sure how I feel about him being the nominee. I would rather see him be in politics for a bit and then run. Need to see how he handles being a politicians and how seriously he takes it. I still want him to have the chance to sell me on why he would be a good choice, though.

Another thing that is interesting is the amount of "alt-right" support he seems to be getting. I'm sure there are some legit folks who simply change their views or they never were all in with the MAGA people, but for whatever reason they went down that path. On the other hand, I'm worried a lot of them are either trying to discredit Yang with hopes of discouraging democrats from supporting him. There was also those MAGA types who said they were going to start a campaign to throw support behind a "weak" or unelectable democratic candidate with the hopes that would help Trump. I think Yang is smart enough to navigate this, though. Today he tweeted about his immigration ideas, which I think may have been an attempt to curtail an attempted hijacking.

Have you noticed this at all over the past couple days?

I too have been following him for awhile and like what I see. I find him to be a very serious person with good ideas and a well laid out thoughtful platform. I believe he would handle the job of President just fine. I have not noticed any attempts to discredit him on any issues other than the exchanges I have had here with some folks who either prefer other candidates or find some of his viewpoints not aligning with theirs. Time will tell as to how this all shakes out.

Here's an article that was posted today. I'm somewhat active on twitter where much of this is going on.

I hope he makes it to the debates. He's the only candidate as far as I know who is seriously addressing the growing concern of automation on the workforce, and the only one proposing a UBI. The more this gets talked about, the better.

If he's allowed on the debate stage he could break out of the pack. Even some Republicans like him he's been on Fox News several times

for others - one in particular, it means that they have "broad appeal," and it's a good thing. Even when their staffers are regulars on FoxNews.

Andrew Yang is not that candidate - at least here on DU.

Just an FYI.
