This is really cementing my mind. It needs to be done and needs to be done now. Like she says, there isn't any "politics" exception to the constitution. People should really go watch that clip. She is so powerful and I totally agree with her.

It was one of George Washingtons fears. If politicians werent bound to parties Trump would have been tossed out already. He has clearly obstructed justice and violated the emoluments clause about a thousand times. Plus he displays mental instability on a daily basis. But he must remain because there is a party that must remain in power above all else.
Just one way to look at it.

(14,557 posts)Sad day when we have a political party whose members put that party above the welfare of the republic. Welcome to DU.

(14,557 posts)My son watched them all, and when we were discussing each candidate, he said that Warren had 'a badass' answer about whether Trump should be impeached or not.
He is 34, so is a millennial. His take on it then was the Dems need to start impeachment hearings because if they do not, they risk being thought weak by a whole generation.
I'm not sure I completely buy that because we've gone past so many lines with the Trump presidency that we are now in a sort of surreal realm. Think about Giuliani saying 'there's no truth.'
Sometimes I wonder how we'll ever get our republic back. It is such a double standard. Trump can do anything he wants, ANYTHING, and suffers no consequence, even though we know he is an utterly corrupt, incompetent criminal who is a Russian asset. All of us know this. But we STILL have to soft pedal on it. We STILL have to be afraid we'll somehow 'play our cards wrong' and alienate...who?
Trump supporters?
Fuck them. Why in the hell should ANY OF US care about their tender sensibilities. What about us? What about the constant stress most sane Americans have been under every single day since this fuck was sworn in? What about all those people buried under those somber white crosses at Arlington and in other places all over the world.
Is this what they fought for? Is this what my Dad fought for? Really? So some corrupt asshole like Trump could basically come in and rip the place off?
These dumb-ass Trumpers have basically peed on everything this country should stand for. Nothing but a bunch of bible-thumping, kluxer, homophobic xenophobic quasi-literate ignoramuses.
God damn it!
OK...rant off...I guess.
