Of course Im not telling you anything as I am sure you know TX much better than me. But who knows how these wackos will respond if their state appears to be going blue. I doubt they will handle it well. I dont think TX will go comfortably or peacefully left.

Its diversity is incredible in both its depth and its breadth. For every sub-literate half-wit supporting trump in El Paso, there's a musician in Austin, a boot-maker in Dallas or a restaurateur in San Antonio supporting one of the Democratic candidates as well.

I'd be surprised if TX votes blue in 2020, but not *that* surprised. Anyway, little by little, step by step, the Texas Democrats are fighting for strong neighborhood schools, higher incomes, and an economy that works for everyone.

22. Analysis: The election-defining Biden-can-win narrative just got a big boost
Wed Jun 5, 2019, 06:54 PM
Jun 2019

In February, we looked at Gallup’s approval rating polling for 2018, picking out an interesting detail. Of all of the states that Trump won in 2016, nowhere was he viewed less favorably than in Texas. His approval in the state was 39 percent over the course of the year, the sort of number that doesn’t slot easily into sentences like “Trump coasted to victory given his ___ percent approval rating in the state.” Perhaps something more like: “Trump’s ___ percent approval rating in the state was just too much to overcome.”

I mean, it’s not as though 2016 and 2018 were blowouts in the state, either. Clinton lost by nine points, though that was closer than the margin in Iowa, which in 2012 voted for Barack Obama. It was the closest the state had been since 1976, excluding 1992 and 1996 when Texan Ross Perot played spoiler. Last year, O’Rourke lost by less than three points.

Then there’s this new poll of Texans by Quinnipiac University. It has Trump struggling against a number of the Democrats running for the party’s 2020 nomination. He’s up only four points on Sen. Kamala D. Harris (D-Calif.) — and that’s the race in which he’s doing the best. Despite his relative success last year, O’Rourke loses to Trump by three points. Against Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Trump’s only up one.

Against former vice president Joe Biden? Trump is losing by four points.

tell you what, he's not my first choice, i'm torn between Harris and Warren, but if I can be convinced that Biden can turn Texas blue, I am ALL IN. Flipping Texas blue (and keeping it that way by ending voter suppression) would permanently chance the landscape of the country politically. The GOP had NO path to victory in any president election without Texas. None. Zero. No chance.

I am seeing a great deal of excitement on the ground. We have six Congressional Districts that are being targeted by the DCCC. The State Party needs 9 state house seats to flip the Texas House to blue and have Ms. T (Senfornia Thompson) be the next speaker (Ms T is one of my favorite politicians). We have candidates who have announced in two of the targeted seats in my county.

Greg Abbott tried a voter purge stunt that Chad Dunn (the outside counsel for the state party), the ACLU and the Texas Civil Rights Project block. We blocked a couple of voter suppression bills this cycle including SB 9 that was a horrible bill. Kirk Watson and the Texas Democrats in the Texas senate blocked Whitely as Secretary of State.

I see a great deal that makes me hopeful. We are gearing up to fight the GOP voter suppression efforts. In 2018, we had a great effort with 20+ attorneys in the state war room and people like me in all of the major counties running voter protection operations.

I think that Texas will turn blue. We got close in 2018 and there are grounds to believe that this may be the year. This will take a great deal of work and I am looking forward to the fight

I support Biden not because he is the best shot to win but because he suits me politically. A steady as you go liberal.

I think Biden can sweep the Midwest and even pick up Florida because he suits most Americans temperament and politics. But Texas is a bridge too far. I hope I am proved wrong.

The only place in my life I am not considered at flaming liberal is on DU!

I, like most Americans just want normalcy. With a Democratic House, White House and hopeful Senate we can further make most Americans see the theocratic fascist for what they are.
