Today I had a feeling while watching Amy Klobuchar that we are going to end up with

a Biden-Klobuchar ticket in order to be "safe" and win in 2020.

Why? Because people know Biden and they feel he is stable and not too far to the left. Amy is "midwest nice," not in a bad sense at all but in a reassuring sense to an American public afraid of "socialism" (while approving of many socialist ideas) and wanting to be comforted after a hurtful, nasty, vindictive Trump regime. I feel that these hurt voters will turn to the safe, reassuring Democratic candidates who won't blow anything up, but be safe and comfortable. They are too "shell shocked" from Trump's outrages to venture too far "out there" and out of their comfort zone.

My assessment for today, June 16, 2019. This may all change but it is how I feel our electorate is doing today...

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

I was thinking Buttigieg might be the VP candidate because he is a fresh face, likable, and performing beyond expectations. I like so many of them that I will be happy with anyone who can defeat the orange ogre.

5. I am very high on Mayor Pete myself! My ideal ticket would be Harris/Buttigeig.

But I am a very liberal Democrat in a very blue state. I am trying to think of all the voters out there who don't like Trump but who are just not as political as I am. I think of how they must feel, beaten down every day with another outrage from our so-called President. I think they just want him to go away and are too tired to give much thought to politics.

7. If they are not paying close attention, Trump is just a loud background hum,

and they really aren't that tired of him. We are tired him, but we also hated him from Day 1. Don't assume they are reading his tweets everyday or are glued to cable news.

I don't watch cable news or read his tweets. He's a very different experience in print form. More sinister but less exhausting.

But I actually think a Biden Harris ticket might inject just the excitement we need.

4. I agree. I like Klobuchar but a Biden/Harris ticket seems more likely.

Why is she paired with Biden so often in these imaginary scenarios, when no one has won anything yet?

Biden lends stability to the ticket and people know and love him. Trump just turns people off with his attacks on Biden. It makes me think he's afraid of him and I'll bet I'm probably right...

8. Biden/Harris seems more likely than Biden/Klobuchar to me.

However, I don't see it as "ending up" with such a ticket. I see it as the logical choice of the voters out there. I don't see it as a negative thing at all, but as a choice that can beat Trump and begin to reverse his assholery and begin progressive change.

For those who think electing Biden is losing in some way, I suggest they consider another four years of Trump as the alternative and get behind the idea that Biden might be the best candidate for 2020, whoever he chooses as a running mate.

I think it is a safer ticket. I don't think Warren is talking about socialism but that the media is painting her as a socialist and I'm upset about that.

11. I really like Elizabeth Warren. If she can pull off a primary win,

that won't upset me at all. In fact, there are very few I can't support among the current set of candidates, but none of those have a prayer of being the nominee.

9. I'm betting we will end up with a woman VP candidate

VP's are chosen for specific voting blocs. Repubs always put in a far right religious fanatic or war monger. Dems mostly chose by geographical considerations. You will not see two east-coasters on the ticket or two mid-westerners.
Given the wide field this is going to get more and more interesting.

Looks like a good solid ticket to me. If course Harris/Buttajudg (sp?) Would be good too. Or Warren/Bennett, or....(insert any Democratic candidate's name. My point is ANY Democrat would be better than what we have now.
