Biden campaign lays out 'real facts' on Trump's record

BY JESSICA CAMPISI - 06/19/19 07:55 AM EDT

Hours before President Trump kicked off his 2020 reelection campaign in Florida, the campaign team for former Vice President Joe Biden laid out what it called the “real facts” surrounding the president’s White House record.

“President Trump dismisses everything he doesn’t want to hear as ‘FAKE NEWS’ — so as he announces his re-election, we want to make sure you have the real facts on record,” the Biden campaign tweeted Monday night.

The campaign targeted Trump’s frequent touting of the economy, saying he is “in the process of squandering” growth built by the previous administration.

“Let’s be clear: President Trump inherited a growing economy from the Obama-Biden administration,” the campaign wrote. “And now, he’s in the process of squandering it.”

The Biden campaign then hit the president for lowering the U.S.'s “standing in the world,” saying “our core values of inclusivity, diversity, respect for the rule of law, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and freedom of religion are under attack here at home and abroad.”

We need to hear what is true.

We didn't have "Fake News" until a Fake president was rigged in.

If Biden picks a progressive Dem woman to run with, it will be a formidable ticket. We need to focus and not get caught up picking someone you like or I like. Who can win the Electoral College and beat trump is all that matters!

For his priority here in going after Trump for "squandering the growth" he inherited from Obama-Biden.

Indeed, looking at the numbers we may have started a recession in May 2019. Multiple charts on the economy are showing sharp declines in June. The May jobs report was very weak and may have signaled the deterioration seen in June. Make no mistake, this is a breathtaking squandering of the growth Trump inherited. And nothing has hurt more than the stupid tariffs. They created the conditions that caused a large build-up in inventory that now has to be worked off - one of the classic causes of a recession.

What we need as a priority is an infrastructure bill but not the one Trump proposes, which is basically to sell off our roads and bridges to private companies to convert them into toll roads. But don't hold your breath.

primary today, I would vote for:
