So we can all agree Cory Booker won the debate last night.

Cory is the Happy Warrior of our era.

Who is the happy Warrior? Who is he
That every man in arms should wish to be?
—It is the generous Spirit, who, when brought
Among the tasks of real life, hath wrought

It could be where I sit on the spectrum, but I thought Warren did well. I expected her to do well, so an "workman like" performance would be a failure in my eyes. I thought her the clear "winner."

Could be my expectations were so low of DeBasio, but I thought he broke from the rest of the pack and had a moment in the sun.

Booker also did fine. But again, I expected him to do a good job. I would rank him as someone who helped himself rather than hurt.

Finally Castro did okay and brought attention to himself.

The rest were just okay. With the exception of poor O'Rourke, the others did no harm, but did little to break out. I wanted O'Rourke to get his campaign back on track. I do not agree with what he is saying all the time, but I can't help but like him. He looked nervous and thus it affected his performance.

Castro perhaps even more so. I like them both and want to see both progress to places on the debate stage in September (which means we need to donate to their campaigns, if even only a little: they need 130,000 individual donors each to qualify, as well as 2% in the polls.)

Both of these men (yeah, they're men, but I'm not biased on that count) exceeded expectations and made names for themselves that could boost their potential.

In the end, by September I'd like to see only about 8 or at most 9 people on stage: and I want at least 2 (or even three of them, say Warren, Harris, Klobochar) to be women.
