Do you believe Trump will actually debate the eventual 2020 Democratic nominee?

We've been having a lot of discussions here about how badly Trump will do in a debate against various candidates, or ANY of our candidates, without much discussion of whether that presidential debate will ever happen.

At the moment I'd go with the third (Maybe) option in this poll.

But I'd take anything Trump says about wanting to debate, looking forward to debates, with as much salt as I took his talk about being willing to testify under oath for Mueller.

Yes, definitely. He's so narcissistic he's sure he can't lose a debate.
3 (38%)
No, definitely not. He and his aides don't see any benefit for him, and too much risk.
2 (25%)
Maybe, but only if he's so far behind in the polls he feels he has nothing to lose and possibly something to gain.
2 (25%)
Other (please explain).

2. I went with the third option. Trump will debate if he's behind, but if he's ahead, I have little

doubt he'll be the first candidate since 1976 to decline to debate.

4. No, he won't debate. He may start, but when he realizes he can't compete, he'll stomp off in a huff.

This will create a sensation which will shock the audience. His supporters will love it. His critics will blather about it for days.

5. That would be interesting. Whatever might drive him off the stage would be particularly interesting.

cuz it gets media attention

In the end he will debate, not because he will win or lose, but because he has changed his mind. Just his presence will work in his favor because he is playing a game.

The specticle of "will he/won't he" will be bigger than the actual debate.

If Warren happens to get the nom and he tries to do that to her, I hope she turns around and asks him what's wrong with him, then tells him to sit down and stop being so creepy.
