Only love will win

Marianne Williamson, mocked by pundits as a "self-help guru slash Oprah fave", made a profound statement in her closing remarks in the debate

“I have an idea about Donald Trump,” Williamson said in her closing remarks. “This man has reached into the psyche of the American people, and he has harnessed fear for political purposes. So, Mr. President — if you’re listening — I want you to hear me please. You have harnessed fear for political purposes, and only love can cast that out. So, I, sir, I have a feeling you know what you’re doing. I’m going to harness love for political purposes. I will meet you on that field, and, sir, only love will win.”

She is right, Trump did harness fear for political purposes.

She is right, he did reach in to the psyche of the American People.

She is right that more than political plans are needed to cast Trump out.

She is right that only our love for each other can repair the damage Trump has done to our country.

Mock her all you want, but try listening to the heart of her message. She isn't wrong.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Starting with the children in cages being held on our border.

We shame the haters with our own actions as decent people.

Not everyone that voted for Trump is lost forever.

We need to wrest control from the haters by being decent loving human beings that care for everyone, even them.

While she's professing love for them. They aren't interested in love. Only power and materialism.

She's a minor figure, gets dismissed for that, which is fine, but then her actually message gets ignored, mocked or misstated.

Like when you just misstated her in this post, no offense to you intended.

Please re-read what she actually said.

I think when she says plans won't defeat trump, love will, she is making the point that technical details alone won't win the election.
That to counter the hostility that Trump has inflamed in the country something more is needed; A show of love for each other.

I didn't "misstate" her. That was, in fact, her message. She would win through love (i.e., "All you need is love.&quot

if she was laying out a concrete plan on how to make this love happen then I’d take her a bit more seriously. As is, it is mostly about self promotion.

Understanding how we got here is the booby prize.

How one runs the third largest country has to be built on a helluva lot more than Williamson's genius for understanding. And that is where she is lacking. She's also put together an administration that's as narrowly skilled as her.

A nation won't run well on "not wrong."
