(71,522 posts)got in helped. I helped my sis with her bankruptcy...the income was 75,000. The counseling were not big deal and cheap....she is an average person and filed chapter 7. The think I wish they had not done was to make it so student loans could not be discharged in bankruptcy easily...it can be done in some cases I was told by my sis's lawyer but it is not easy. All this BS about Biden...going back to Anita Hill or heaven's sake...I am ignoring it and suspect others will too. But why bring up Biden? Were you replying to someone else?

(989 posts)so I shared with you who I could not support.
Imagine someone with no income, but with more than the maximum $23,675 of equity in homes that you are allowed to keep.
Imagine that this person has a home nearly or completely paid off, huge medical and/or credit card bills due to illness that led to unemployment. They are destroyed.

(71,522 posts)amount is higher than your figure. That bill was going to be passed and by making it better- Biden and other Democrats did their job at the time. When we elect a Democratic president and a Democratic congress, we can change it in beneficial ways. As for Sen. Sanders I would support him in a general...but never a primary. There are plenty of reasons in the last two years in my opinion...google Hugh Mello. The charges against Biden are decades old. I would hope you would support Biden...as I expect he will be the candidate. Of course Beto has a chance also. I really don't think Sen. Sanders can win the primary.

Democratic Party... I refer to Nina Turner... who supported Stein and helped elect Trump. But of course, she has no words of condemnation for Trump's guy? Only Democrats. My hope is that Sen. Sanders is out early before too much damage is done to our candidates and our party.

Be careful where you place the goal posts.
And BTW, "supposed" Democrats......it's divisive. I'm a registered Democrat. I donate money and time. Am I not a Democrat?

(71,522 posts)I was referring to Nina Turner who supports Greens, and even Republicans in 'Our Revolution' while progressive Democrats like Sherrod Brown must 'earn' their spot. I do not believe Nina Turner is a Democrat. She once was and I voted for her in Ohio...but not any more. She helped elect Trump.
If I Had any intention of supporting Sen. Sanders in the primary, the ship sailed when he appointed Nina. To be fair I doubt I would have supported him anyway. I do not believe he can win a general and I want to win in 2020...sure I would support and vote for him in a general...but I fear we would lose. This simply can't happen.

(71,522 posts)his surrogates attack Obama, Castro and the Democratic Party on a completely separate issue. So my hope is that Sanders is out odf the primary quickly before real damage is done to our eventual nominee and our party. And no I don't believe Sanders can win a primary. Although, I will vote for and work my ass for him if he should win in the general.

(71,522 posts)giving his reasons why he is for or against reparations...he attacks Castro for past actions during the Obama administration that have nothing to do with the primary...year that is an attack in my view. I would add that my niece went into the Air Force because the student load program was so bad under Bush...she would be ready for classes and no money...and she did it the earliest she could. The banks redlined too...so not only was it an attack but it was unfair and not true as well. We need to do something about student loans no doubt but...lets think about it logically and not attack Democrats unfairly. And since 2010 when some voter including some on our side abandoned Pres. Obama, we have not had the power to do much.

The frog hesitates, afraid of being stung by the scorpion, but the scorpion argues that if it did that, they would both drown.
The frog considers this argument sensible and agrees to transport the scorpion.
The scorpion climbs onto the frog's back and the frog begins to swim, but midway across the river, the scorpion stings the frog, dooming them both.
The dying frog asks the scorpion why it stung the frog, to which the scorpion replies "I couldn't help it. It's in my nature."

(58,785 posts)even if he mostly holds off long enough to reassure those people who want to believe he meant this. Most won't hold a running stream of low-grade criticisms against him, itm.
But he's leading a populist campaign, and those worst of his followers who are caught up by populist fervor require him to lead them in attacking "the evil elites." It's in the very definition of populism. They are the true Democrats and those in government are evil elites who must be brought down.
So whether those people come from the insurgent left or are fallaway trumpsters Sanders is hoping to draw in larger numbers this time, they will cheer his attacking Democratic leaders. And if he were to disappoint, most of their type would drop him like an old, cold potato.

But Castro making a snide comment about something Sanders said - all well and good.
Those who are in the low percentages of support will be used to do the attacking and negativity so the "chosen one" won't have to get their hands dirty. Will be interesting to see where this goes.

Bernie is the one that has repeatedly said recently that the campaign won't go negative.
Just to be clear, that to you means, that he won't do it as long as no one else does? We all know they hypocrisy as BS and his supporters don't stop for even a minute from spending huge amounts of time online and through youtube trying to bring down the democratic party.
