irrelevant, I'd like to remind you that Obama also awarded him the Presdential Medal of Freedom, and spelled out exactly WHY Biden deserved that award:

(42,033 posts)Joe Biden is a good man who cares about bettering the lives of all people. Sure he doesnt always think before he speaks, but thats the way he is. Not news.
What people described what went on on MSNBC this morning is counterproductive, at minimum.

(13,985 posts)...ought to be essentially fully trusted. These credentials Biden has are about as solid as credentials ever come.

(13,985 posts)I mean that Obama's picking Biden, working with him for eight years, giving him responsibility, and giving him a Medal of Freedom mean that Obama trusts Biden and trusts him a lot. I fully trust Obama. When Biden says something, I'm going to give it the same trust. I would give it approximately the same weight I would give Obama saying it. Full trust.
Let's not quibble about the deeper significance of epistemology, though. I'll call my trust of Obama and Biden as full a trust as I am capable of for a leader of our country. And that's a lot of trust.

(3,256 posts)it means you don't trust President Obama's and his vetting team's judgment.
As simple as that.

(12,344 posts)because I thought he was the best choice for President, but that's not at all the same as trusting everything he says and does. Obama did a lot of things I didn't agree with. That doesn't mean he was a bad President.
This kind of trust in a political leader seems foreign to me, more worthy of popes than presidents.

(2,921 posts)in South Carolina. As I've said before, no one likes when politicians use their familiarity and past relationship with them or members of their family to assault them for political gain. The Sanders crowd and the Harris crowd will pay for their bare toothed ambition. To think that Kamala actually worked with Biden's dead son makes me enraged. Thanks for this! Yep, the haters are now trying to say that Biden had nothing to do with Obama for the last 8 years. Makes me sick what some Democrats are doing.

(14,777 posts)Sen Booker should apologize to HIM. And Sen Booker's kind words in response to a much delayed apology were far more magnanimous than someone who'd said he was owed an apilogy--i mean, really!--deserved

(16,408 posts)This lifted my spirits. You can tell they had a genuine affection and respect for each other. I miss their leadership so much.
I can't think of anyone else who would've made a better VP for Obama than Biden did. Only Hillary would've come close.
I don't think he needed to apologize for what he said, but since he has, I'm hoping that everyone can finally move on from this. The squabbling and one-upping on this board has been depressing to see and it's very damaging for us. Joe isn't the enemy here. Trump is.

(319,076 posts)Well.. the very first it started was supporting him when all those "hit jobs" started coming in.. I had Harris' as my pic before that.. and then I changed to Biden to stand up for him.
Then it was he polled the best against the Psycho.. and from there I realized how his experience and qualifications would be invaluable starting immediately in our WH. And, I actually like Joe Biden so that's always helpful in my book..

... he could have chosen Howard Dean, Ned Lamont, even Kamala Harris.
He coud have chosen any other person with a 'D' next to their name. He could have chosen any "progressive" darling or moderate.
He could have. But he chose Biden.
Never forget that.
