Sorry Bernie

But I disagree.
I certainly won't miss him.

Remember also...

Perot advocated sending in helicopters and dropping troops into our cities to fight the "drug war".

He was a full-on corporatist/fascist who gave to the far rightwing.
He helped create this mess in a big way.

To them, it doesn’t matter if the president is Trump, Bush or a shrub, as long as they get their tax cut.

Perot made his money through his outsourcing services company, EDS. Companies could get rid of full time corporate employees from the I.T. department to the mailroom. EDS thrived when lay-off slips flowed.

Do not post in a manner that is hostile, abusive, or aggressive toward any member of this community.

Why we have this rule: Civility begets quality discussions. Democratic Underground members are highly passionate about politics which means discussions can get heated -- but they don't need to get nasty. There's no reason why a community of intelligent adults who agree on a majority of political issues can't have a conversation without insulting each other or resorting to other anti-social behaviors.

Searching every single dwelling and person in the cordoned off area. And people think Biden was a tough on drugs guy. Perot wanted draconian penalties for mainly marijuana. He felt all drug problems started and ended with marijuana.

He literally called for a deceleration of martial law so the military could be sent into minority communities to get control of drugs.

I don't see where you were asked to hate anyone. He has a long history of highly questionable acts that continued to the very end. But Sanders thinks he is a swell guy so a certain group has to follow closely behind.

Wed Jul 10, 2019, 01:19 PM
Jul 2019

From 538 https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-ross-perot-myth/

George H.W. Bush only lost his re-election bid in 1992 because a peculiar independent candidate from Texas, Ross Perot, drew more voters away from Bush than from Democratic candidate Bill Clinton. It’s one of the most enduring myths in U.S. presidential election history. Perot ran a quirky “outsider” campaign that in many ways presaged the Donald Trump phenomenon of 2016. It all amounted to one of the most successful third-party bids in U.S. history; Perot won 19 percent of the popular vote. But, no, Perot did not cost Bush the election, as “The Perot Myth” — a film from FiveThirtyEight and ESPN Films, directed by John Watkin and Eamon Harrington — makes clear.

Turning to the subject of adultery, Perot said he would "not knowingly" hire someone who had been unfaithful to his wife.

"The American people deserve better than that," he said.

Then there is this:

Perot, who is expected soon to announce his independent bid for the presidency, was asked by Walters if he would have an acknowledged homosexual on his staff, Perot initially said: "It would all depend. We'd have to be far more specific in what job."

And this:

Pressed on whether he would consider a homosexual for a top Cabinet post, such as the defense, treasury or education departments, Perot said: "No, I don't want anybody there that will be at a point of controversy with the American people. It will distract from the work to be done."

Gulf War Illness research. Perot was a big supporter of finding treatment and cures for Gulf War Illness and he wrote both Congressmen letters expressing his support of their work. i don’t know how that relationship may have progressed but perhaps that’s why Sanders posted a personal expression of his sadness in his passing and noted his veterans support and his policies and foresight on trade agreements like NAFTA.

Fyi Bill Clinton and Al Franken also tweeted their sympathies on his passing.

Why should we take Sanders' version? It just opened it up to start tweeting the reality of who ross perot was.

Perot had/has a shorefront home in Bermuda. He wanted to dock his yacht in front of his home, but would not be granted a permit to do so, because the home was fronted by a large healthy coral reef.

Ross would have nothing to do with that permitting stuff, so he had the reef removed with high explosives. Some feel they control so much money they can do whatever the f**k they want.

...Ross Perot was a true independent, who thought for himself. A faithful Christian and family man who would NOT have anything in common with the average Trumpkin wearing a MAGA hat.
