Remember also...
Perot advocated sending in helicopters and dropping troops into our cities to fight the "drug war".
He was a full-on corporatist/fascist who gave to the far rightwing.
He helped create this mess in a big way.

Perot made his money through his outsourcing services company, EDS. Companies could get rid of full time corporate employees from the I.T. department to the mailroom. EDS thrived when lay-off slips flowed.

No personal attacks or flaming
No personal attacks or flamingDo not personally attack, insult, flame, threaten, bully, harass, stalk, negatively call-out, ascribe ugly ulterior motives to, or make baseless claims about any member of this community. Do not post in a manner that is hostile, abusive, or aggressive toward any member of this community.
Why we have this rule: Civility begets quality discussions. Democratic Underground members are highly passionate about politics which means discussions can get heated -- but they don't need to get nasty. There's no reason why a community of intelligent adults who agree on a majority of political issues can't have a conversation without insulting each other or resorting to other anti-social behaviors.

Bernie did serve as chair of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee. So i think thst Bernie had a postive association with Perot on veterans issues.

(1,810 posts)Searching every single dwelling and person in the cordoned off area. And people think Biden was a tough on drugs guy. Perot wanted draconian penalties for mainly marijuana. He felt all drug problems started and ended with marijuana.
He literally called for a deceleration of martial law so the military could be sent into minority communities to get control of drugs.
I don't see where you were asked to hate anyone. He has a long history of highly questionable acts that continued to the very end. But Sanders thinks he is a swell guy so a certain group has to follow closely behind.

(1,810 posts)Not sure what that has to to with my post or the topic of Ross Perot and BS.
I get that Perot is your cup of tea. No big deal to me. Still worth remember how viewed minority communities. Literally wanted to send the military in to do house by house raids. Every single dwelling. None skipped.
Odd how when one's deity likes someone all of the disciples must fall in line and cheer same said individual.
That is along the same mental process as your out of place "hate" line. The op sure didn't mention hate.

(4,974 posts)Gulf War Illness research. Perot was a big supporter of finding treatment and cures for Gulf War Illness and he wrote both Congressmen letters expressing his support of their work. i dont know how that relationship may have progressed but perhaps thats why Sanders posted a personal expression of his sadness in his passing and noted his veterans support and his policies and foresight on trade agreements like NAFTA.
Fyi Bill Clinton and Al Franken also tweeted their sympathies on his passing.

(12,506 posts)Perot had/has a shorefront home in Bermuda. He wanted to dock his yacht in front of his home, but would not be granted a permit to do so, because the home was fronted by a large healthy coral reef.
Ross would have nothing to do with that permitting stuff, so he had the reef removed with high explosives. Some feel they control so much money they can do whatever the f**k they want.
