Our candidates cannot promise everyone .. everything..

We will not be giving free college to everyone.. no matter what financial position they are in..
but can we extend community college to all who want it, .. that would be more doable

We cannot forgive all student loans that are out there..
but can we help people who have lower income jobs extend their payments so they do not destroy people, and if people go
bankrupt add student debt to that to get people back on their feet (student loan bankruptcy is possible now but a whole different
kind of critter..make it just part of a regular bankruptcy process) ... seems more doable

We cannot give Medicare to all.. medicare is an insurance plan that pays 80% of the bills for the retired..they also pay out at a much
lower rate.. and there are many Dr.s who will not take medicare patients.. and smaller hospitals could not even keep the doors open
with just medicare payments.... the ACA is much more doable..

The borders will never be open.. we would cease to be a country.. but people should be able to apply to get in here..we need to have
the judges on hand to take care of people coming in and asking for sanctuary.. not everyone is going to get it..but we need to treat
people in a humane and decent way.. this is what we did under previous administrations and it is doable

We have to get back on the horse with conservation.. and restart treaties to protect our environment.. and get our environmental
policies back in order

We can't do everything, but we can do many things.. but nothing comes easy.. all of it will be work.. this is what I hope to hear our people talk about in the next debate

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

My daughter went back to school in her late 30s to get her Masters degree in Clinical Nursing. She had already been working as an RN at the same hospital for over ten years. She owes a mid five figure sum on that schooling but there is a program that forgives the debt if she works at a rural hospital for so many years. The hospital she already works at qualifies.

It's a way of placing people with certain skills where they are currently scarce and needed. Similar programs exist for teachers and other professionals, I believe.

These programs could be expanded and help a lot of people and communities.

I'm not expecting miracles from any of our candidates but is Biden the self-proclaimed "realist" who wants our votes because we need to keep our needs in check? All these things that "we cannot" do, other candidates have spelled out how they could. So Biden is drawing a clear distinction between he and the others by being the no-we-can't candidate. My preference for Warren is precisely because she doesn't make empty promises but provides some details on how she would like to accomplish her platform goals. And her goals are very reasonable and progressive. We need more than just going back to some fictitious status quo. The real status quo over the last 40 years is how we got into this mess in the first place.

on a couple of general things....that are acceptable to a range of voters...and you win. Warren is particularly invested in this sort of thing with just about every issue I can think of... MFA, free college, reparations,

'Elizabeth Warren has a universal child care plan. She has a plan to crack down on corruption in defense procurement. She wants to make it legal to indict a sitting president. She has an ambitious reproductive rights agenda, and a plan to break up big technology companies; that plan is actually separate from her larger idea to rework antitrust policy. She also has an expansive “economic patriotism” agenda. And a big plan for free college and student debt cancellation. Much of this would be paid for by a big new tax on large accumulated fortunes.

That’s to say nothing of her plan to end shareholder supremacy in corporate America, her expansive housing agenda, her plan on private prisons, her plan to reduce racial disparities in maternal mortality, her climate plan, or her plan for rural America...'

'... In the real world, there is no way legislation of this scope is going to be enacted regardless of who prevails in 2020. As a result, the proliferation of plans is in some regards more of a branding exercise than a real guide to what America would look like under a Warren administration...'

Warren has already shown she appeals to the kind of voters in the Midwest who voted for Obama, then rump. We do have to win those voters back and Warren can do that. You are looking at things throug a lef-right lens like the MSM does. The voters are not looking at things that way; Warren's economic populism appeals to many of those disaffected voters, as well as appealing to the white suburban women who led to the big gains in the midterms. She will win the states we need.

I like Biden like most Americans but I’ve been quite disappointed in his campaign. He still needs to energize dems and the only way that works is proposing radical change. Curious what Steyer has to offer. Mayor Pete is still the most articulate, positive and non divisive person running. Even if we understand Biden’s intentions, his whole campaign seems just plain lazy without innovation. We do need radical change, now more than ever. I’m not saying MFA is that but SC reform is a good start.

Unlike Biden, Warren has not only made concrete proposals to take on these issues but has ways to pay for them. And "etc." does NOT mean "everything" and they are not for "everyone". Labelling them as such is lying about what she has proposed.

I think this has to do with Biden's falling numbers and the fact Warren continues to climb and her big fundraising haul. Debate what she has actually proposed. Lying about her positions shows desperaton.

.... we will not only fail to gain the Presidency but, will also lose the House and insure a Republican senate.

Trump to win. Neither Obama nor Clinton took the positions candidates with the exception of Biden have taken; they were savvy an understood about not ruining your chances in a general...and it would cost us the general should Harris,Warren and the rest win the nomination. I do not include Biden...he can win a general. I would vote for any nominee of course so would you and other Democrats, but we would lose independents and moderates...we would lose the presidency, probably the house and fail to regain the Senate and for what? Policy that has a snowball's chance of being legislated no matter who wins?

Most developed nations offer their citizens free healthcare and cheap or free tertiary education.

Working and middle-class Americans need democratic socialism; the world needs a socialist America rather than an empire which dedicates its existence to serving the 0.1%!

Just using executive orders to reverse all of the Orange Menace's EO's will set this country on the right path again.
