Harris "surges" ahead of Biden in Quinnipiac CA Primary Poll

Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) has surged ahead of Joe Biden and the other 2020 Democrats to take the top spot in a new Quinnipiac poll of California voters.

Quinnipiac reports: “Native daughter Kamala Harris comes from behind to win the support of 23 percent of California Democrats and voters leaning Democratic, with 21 percent for former Vice President Joe Biden, leaving the Democratic primary too close to call, according to a Quinnipiac University Poll released today. Also in the running are Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders with 18 percent and Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts with 16 percent. South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg has 3 percent and entrepreneur Andrew Yang has 2 percent. There are four Democratic contenders with 1 percent and 15 candidates scoring less than 1 percent.”

I've always expected California will give their favorite daughter candidate the win in her home state.

Twice, the voters of that state gave her a majority in a general election.

What also surprises me is that Castro is not pulling anywhere near double digits in a state with so many Latino voters.

might be. The poll also indicated by those polled they thought Biden had the best chance against trump. That is the reason I believe

and placed 4th in her home state just about a month ago, behind Warren and Sanders, in a poll for the LA Times conducted by UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies.

12. If Sanders and Biden were not in the race, this would be a new ball game. With so many candidates

in the race, I think states like California and NY work will have less impact in our primaries because the the delegates will be split between the top candidates, and the red and purple states may have a greater impact, where the votes may end up going more predominantly toward one candidate

We shall see on Super Tuesday though
