VP Biden: 'he didn't think anyone thought Trump "would be as bad as he is" '

https://mobile.twitter.com/Politicsinsider/status/1153832819778449409

This is an incredibly worrying statement. Secretary Clinton warned, again and again, of how bad Trump was. She was ridiculed and dismissed. Many activists, journalists, experts and the like did the same - especially those with minority background were painted as hysterical and conspiracy theorists. A majority of Black voters (93% of Black women! So vote like a Black woman in 2020) saw thru him and understood how bad he would be. That VP Biden didn't, shows a stunning lack of discernment. That he didn't hear the warnings from the previously mentioned people, so that he would say that he didn't think anyone saw it coming, adds to the worrying picture of a man who not only could not and cannot see the danger we're in, but also is in a bubble so that he doesn't hear the warnings of people who have a better understanding than him. Do we want someone like that to be President?
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

no one ever imagined that Trump would be as bad as he as turned out to be. What is scary is he is getting progressively worse. There seems to be no bottom with him and his god-awful administration.

Meanwhile, I noticed at least three threads on this subject. A whole lot of outrage over absolutely nothing and I am quite sure it won't affect anyone's opinion on Biden.

people here yawning or acting blase or saying, "Well, we knew he'd be this bad" or "Honestly, I expected him to be worse."

We have seen a lot of posts about how Trump and his admin keep getting worse.

Biden never said he thought Trump would be a good or competent president. He just said people didn't expect him to be this bad.

I'm talking about reading Black Twitter (as well as other marginalized groups on Twitter), marginalized voices via Medium and other niche platforms and so on. believing Trump would be as bad as, or worse than, he's turned out to be?

You can find all kinds of opinions on Twitter, from QAnon and PizzaGate conspiracy theories on the far right to conspiracy theories on the far left.

Apparently you know very little about Joe Biden. "Privilege" is the last thing most people think of when they think of the VP. He is a down to earth man who came from very humble beginnings.

Meanwhile, though we all knew Trump would be a terrible president, he has proven to be far worse than most, if not all of us could have imagined. And he gets worse everyday.

I wish any of our candidates would just come out and say that, or any Democrat with standing for that matter. There.is.no.bottom.

Just taking the issue of race, trace the line from the Central Park Five case to the birther scam to the hateful candidacy announcement...how much more evidence do we need? That was all before he became President. And that's just one aspect of his "character."

and foreseeing how far he would get down the Nazi path. Some may have foreseen he would face no opposition to speak of in the GOP, but that was not certain. If principled Republicans, and not so principled media outlets had pushed back earlier, we would not have got to the 'Send her back' stage. This is what VP Biden is standing against, as he made clear from the outset, an existential threat to the Republic.
