Tweets from Biden this morning about the ACA and GOP efforts to kill it

Since the historic passage of the Affordable Care Act, Congressional Republicans have been fighting to it tear down. Two years ago today, they continued their crusade in an attempt to pass a “skinny repeal” of Obamacare—it failed.

I worked hard to pass the Affordable Care Act—it was a milestone for American health care. I will continue to oppose every effort to tear it down. We have come too far to start over. Read my plan to protect and build on Obamacare at

Good for Joe for posting this reminder...and on the anniversary of McCain giving the repeal a thumbs down. Nice timing for this post -- Trump will hate this reminder.

It's important to protect Obama's legacy, and to build on it.

Those were brighter days:

other bureaucracy to replace it, and Medicare, and Medicaid, while at the same time, millions will be deprived of employer provided and retirement benefit plans they like.

True, ACA needs work, first to bring it back fully and protect it, and then to improve it. The money that would be spent on single payer such as M4A can go toward expanding subsidies and making ACA more affordable. This, improving ACA, is what was intended before Trump began crushing it.

Under mandate, Medicaid can be expanded in all states who turned federal help down, and with an adjustment in eligibility, could serve many more lower income people than it does currently.

The age for Medicare can be lowered to 55.

Then we deal with coverage for some millions falling through the cracks.

Why reinvent the wheel?
