Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) leads the Democratic presidential field in New Hampshire with 21 percent in a Gravis Marketing poll released Tuesday.
Sanders is followed by former Vice President Joe Biden with 15 percent and by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) at 12 percent.
The poll stands in contrast from the most recent polls in New Hampshire compiled by RealClearPolitics, which have showed Biden leading in the critical primary state, followed by Sanders.
Gravis Marketing polled 250 Democratic primary voters on Aug. 2-6 using interactive voice responses and an online panel of cell phone users. The primary question had a margin of error of 6.2 percentage points.
It is important to note that Sen. Sanders won the New Hampshire Democratic Primary in 2016, Doug Kaplan, president of Gravis Marketing, said in a statement.

(96,028 posts)Ridiculing Beto, a Democrat that went out and drove to every county in Texas to campaign for the Senate. He is an amazing Democrat and yet here you posting a mask of a character, Chewbacca, in star wars to mock him. What a parady that you would post Chewy. He was a hero as is Beto.
Fact is Beto has built bridges.

(96,028 posts)I also appreciate, your support, obviously non support, of the Democratic candidate Beto O'Rourke. You seem to agree with the other poster that he needs to be laughed at and ridiculed.
Wow.

(11,088 posts)I admire Beto for his diligence, hard work, integrity and ability to be the first democrat in more than a decade to break 45% in a statewide race in Texas. I would actually be stoked if he got the nomination because if he got within 3% of winning in Texas, he clearly can win Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan. That being said, his talents seem like they would be best spent in the US Senate race handing John Cornyn his ass. I adore Beto and his speaking truth to the evil fuckers in power right now.
On edit: Although it was clearly an accident that you said state instead of county, I find it highly likely he would visit every state were Beto to get the nomination. Because that's just how he rolls

I voted for the Democratic nominee in 2016. I always vote for the DEMOCRTIC CANDIDATE. Always.
Way to many here did not. Stated it for fact and are gone and did their best to have others do the same. If you can't/ won't see who campaigns have hired to be their top advisors for 2020 and are unconcerned by it then I can't help you.

BTW, I saw that O'Rourke climbed to 5% in the YouGov survey released today. Beto could easily rise to fourth place after the next debate in September. At the point, he will provide a nice alternative to voters compared to the top three candidates who will be in their 70s.

However, if you wish to believe Gravis then go ahead.

(34,857 posts)This isn't an issue with the poster but the narrative a lot in the media use to push these polls. No, Sanders didn't overtake Biden. Why? Because there's no other poll from Gravis from New Hampshire to reference. You can't compare two different polls, with two different sample sizes, and different methodologies, and suggest they're comparable. They're not. This is a poll independent of every other - and the first Gravis poll of the state.
A more accurate headline would be the paragraph they lead with:

(1,810 posts)His weak showing is disqualifying. He is a career politician with extremely limited accomplishments outside of becoming a one percent earner as he heads for retirement.
Biden is within the margin of error for this poll. Pretty weak for Sanders to be touting that he is within the margin of error in his own back yard. This has to hurt.

(12,327 posts)But what a waste of resources just to be at the top of the polls for a single tiny state. I feel the same way about the other candidates that are spending money there.
Iowa and South Carolina are bellwethers of sorts, so campaigning in those states makes sense. I don't think New Hampshire is really worth the big investment.
