John Kerry's heartfelt reaction to Jay Inslee's stepping out of the race.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Congrats and thank you <a href="https://twitter.com/JayInslee?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@JayInslee</a> for running on climate change and being a strong voice on the issue. Glad you’re running for a third term! Believe me, I’ve learned you can stop running for president and still contribute to the issues you care about. Keep fighting!</p>— John Kerry (@JohnKerry) <a href="

It's always good to have true statepersons who remind us political landscape isn't only a place crowded of greedys and cynicals. Particularly in this era of global mistrust in leaders.

And our media just didn't care about the theft. And they still don't everybody knows that
Russia installed Trump into the White House in 2016 and the media is nice and quite about
that.

reason Drumpf is even there.

Sorry for thread drift. I was taking to my DH last night, saying that the moment the Democratic president is elected, all Democrats needs to pony up for a Kerry World Tour righting the wrong of this "administration."

Isn't it wild that it took PBO & Kerry two years, through diplomacy, to try and create a world that everyone wants to live in and in only 2.5 years an asshole coterie is able to knock it all down?

That's something that needs to change the day after the election. Do like EU - fund everything to unth degree and not on someone's whim every 4-8 years.

13. In 2004 I met people who worked for and around John Kerry and the stories about ...

... what a good guy he was were amazing. Kerry's break through to get Iran to meet and then
negotiate when he was Sec. of State was amazing. Kerry knew he was going to meet his Iranian
counterpart @ some function in Paris and he learned that the Iranian diplomat liked architecture
so John brought him a book on Fredrick Law Olmstead and Central Park. 2 weeks later Kerry got
a letter from the Iranian thanking him for the book and how much he enjoyed it and at the bottom
of the letter was a little P.s. saying something like, "Do you want to get together and talk sometime?"

The deal that Kerry, Sec. of Energy Moniz, and the other nations got done w/Iran was amazing and
Trump dumped it out of the fact that he could not stand the idea that "the black guy" got something
done.

BTW the things I saw and heard in OH in 2004 still haunt me.

6. As a Washingtonian, I want Inslee to stay governor

Inslee inspired me because he works so hard day after day to show that you can have a strong economy and still value equality, decency, and maintain a focus on the environment and climate change. He was going to be my candidate, but I worry sometimes if we have someone as good as he is for the governorship.

7. I think he is better off as governor of Washington

Although he couldn't get it passed earlier, he could lead in getting a good state program passed including creative programs that could be trialed in Washington.

I would hope that a scientist - like Dr Moniz, who was very helpful to Kerry on various climate negotiations as well as the Iran deal. He also ran the Energy department, making him someone with the scientific credentials to speak to other scientists to search for potential game changers. The President also might want a special envoy to negotiate plans forward internationally. No one would be better at this than John Kerry. There was an article that spoke of Kerry, Moniz, and Gina McCarthy, Obama's second EPA head talking about an initiative they hope to announce in September on climate change.

Every Democrat running is serious on climate change - all of them wanting to rejoin Paris and then try to work to exceed, rather than failing as we are now, the goals given. This needs to be a long term effort.

But his climate platform sounded solid and on purpose.
Hope he'll obtain positive change in a even more cleaner State of Washington.

Jay Inslee is in the same category . Inslee will work with the new democratic president on climate change and many other issues. he will be able to provide advice on how states and the feds can work together.
