I don't like him, but he's at least as big a douchebag as Trump. He's now apologizing for his racist BS that he spewed years ago, but he had a temper (remember him yelling at constituents who asked questions he didn't like at a town hall?), and he's had practice with his oratory skills since hosting a radio show. The other republican candidates in 2016 - and even Hillary - would get snarky with Trump while trying to take the high ground. Walsh might try to out-asshole him.

ALL of the following should run as Indies in the general

Kasich

Weld

McMullin

Sanford

Walsh

those 5 draw from different types of conservatives (with some overlap)

if they all ran, they would pull at least 5% combined total away from Trump and ensure he lost

Plus the Libertarian candidate (especially Gary Johnson again) will draw off too

Kasich may not do it, as he has eyes on 2024 I am sure, and doesn't want to piss off a Party that is supporting Trump around 90% or more atm

House for 2 and they might go for it. If they also had the House after 2020 (all 4 years then) I think they really accept that. I we had a POTUS Warren or Sanders and Rethug control of both chambers, it will be a an all-out war, that is for sure. Biden maybe a wee bit less, BUT forget any SCOTUS for Dems ever again when The Rethugs control the Senate. They will block for 8 straight years of Biden if need be (until they lose control.) They do not even Moscow Mitch to do that, their next Senate Leader will do the same thing (might be Tom Cotton, who is a monster too.)

Cotton is the younger Rethug I am most worried about as a POTUS down the road, and/or Senate Leader (mainly there if he is Majority Leader.) He is whip smart, utterly ruthless, a decorated vet, tall, imposing, a total war monger, and a fundie to boot, but not a loony tunes appearing type like Pence. He is a sinister up and coming force.

could offer to avail him- or herself to participate in a series of televised town hall discussions including Q&A's on a variety of issues -- health care, climate change, immigration, foreign policy, etc. These events would be an open invitations to both major party candidates. If Trump does not show up, the moderator would indicate that he was also invited but declined. If he does decide to show up, he is revealed to be the imbecilic inept jerk that he is, only far worse than four years earlier.

I hope that is what they'd do and bet that would cause drumpf at the last minute to jump in and try to mess everything up, making him look even weaker and ignorant than usual.
