this is just a ridiculous attempt to back the Castro-ageist attacks on Biden--which were deplorable. Fortunately, his ugly tactic backfired spectacularly, as it will with others who take this tact.

BTW, I just received the Christmas Hammacher Schlemmer catalog with no less than five record player and turntable models for sale. So, WHO is out of touch, missy? Next you will likely give eyeroll to the thought of Christmas catalogs... Guess what, some companies STILL send them out--no matter your income level.

im Not antibiden but some of the things his supporters use to defend him are strange
I do not think he was talking about giving poor families new record players from Hammachee Sclemmer as much as he was thinking in another century . Even he stopped himself and said phones after that realizing that is not a common transmission of music anymore but supporters go off the deep end to justify him and claim it was not awkward and intended

BTW I have no problem with supporters who just say “who cares that’s not important to me “

This isn't a contest on what the poor can afford. They are as likely as any family to still have an old turntable or actual record-player around with a family member's collected LPs from decades back. Your assumptions are rather off base.

hugh investments in vinyl , high end music delivery , high end lifestyle sites etc

Biden was talking about poor families .
That was the subject if anyone remembers ..

There seems to be a disconnect and people seem to go out of their way to give him a pass on it.

He was not talking about random young parents who spend big cash on collectible vinyl now days
I like him enough and would vote for him but his supporters really will not give any concession about his many awkward moments. Perhaps they identify age wise or something but it gets in that territory we have seen from before with allegiance to candidates -always an off excuse or defending the ridiculous .

If a reply is -I don’t care what he said , or not enough of a stumble that I would change my vote - that is more acceptable and honest imo

But his supporters have to be honest in defending him and also about understanding why he is not going to get some votes

I believe the original question was about reparations
so the turn around of his answer was awkard where he went even with out the record player mention
and he avoided a direct answer to the question completely but that was his own choice of reply

But the supporters who double down on additional odd moments of his with the no hey what about vinyl resurgence for high end sound or what about families with large old record collections shock me too.

Kidding. It's a 70s thing. As someone who loves cassette tapes and CDs (IPOD nano RIP), I mourn the state of the current music format delivery systems. Yeah Vinyl is great, but it's really hard to have a record player strapped to your waist as you bicycle.

Anyway, Biden gave the most electric opening statement of all the candidates. Then I turned it off because someone has to watch the NFL and MSNBC.

My 9 year old granddaughter wouldn't know what it is, but she will by the time she's old enough to vote.

BTW, "Victrolas" are also in vogue.
