People call on candidates to drop out every day. The over-the-top reaction to Reid’ surely isn’t the reaction of people confident in their candidate since anyone who trusts that their candidate has the chops to take on Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un surely wouldn’t spend an entire day whining that Joy-An Reid picked on him.

Not exactly an all-day party.

People call on candidates to drop out every day.

No, they don't. They might call on candidates who are polling poorly to drop out, but it's rare to hear those calls for any candidate doing at all well.

Calling on the front-runner to drop out is bizarre and self-defeating for the party. The only possible benefit is to candidates who haven't been able ti do as well as the front-runner.

But it's incredibly stupid to want our strongest candidate to drop out.

If the currently strong candidate loses polling strength, loses support, and one’s preferred candidate becomes the lead, well, then...all the better for that supporter, I would think.

She is entitled to her opinion. If we can't voice our own opinions we're in very bad shape. I'm sure she'll get behind whoever the democratic candidate turns out to be, as we all will. I sincerely don't want DU or other democratic websites to turn into FOX Noise, where dissent or differing opinions aren't tolerated.

Maye James-Holler I don’t agree with your guest! Sure he could have handle the question better. But when i see how ALL the channels put Trump in the White House by giving him free publicity, as he lied everyday and couldn’t answer a damn question so he called people names. That didn’t bother the pundits, when Joe makes a mistake or a gaffe, oh my, lets kick him out. PLEASE!!! I’m a person of color and I’m for JOE!

Debbie Marijanovich It's obvious that many MSNBC hosts have their favorites! They have been after Biden before he even tossed his hat in the ring

Bonnie Blancett Anand Giridharadas is insufferable. I watched that interview. There was no respect for Vice President Biden. And, I'm sick of Joy having these people on with their immature points of view. All they want is purity. Have they lived seasoned lives. NO! Have they the ability to appreciate anyone before their existence. And shame on Julian Castro for daring to think he has more sway with Obama than Biden. Even Warren dodges confrontation. Did Joe melt into the background when attacked? NO! He was stunned but stood his ground. Joe would never stoop to the behavior of these jealous, self serving people. ie, Booker and Castro. He has my vote, my family's vote, and most of us are older. We know what it means to be a true Democrat.

Asiwaju Femi Falade Nonsense, Joe Biden drop out? I like Joy Reid, but one thing I have noticed about her, is that she is always happy to report negative news about Joe Biden. I am really getting tired of this so called liberal and progressive media, they like to batch their own politicians, most especially if they don't want certain politician to get to a certain position. They did the same thing with Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election. They devoted about 75% of their time covering negative stories about Hillary Clinton e.g email scandal, server sandal, Benghazi scandal etc. Enough is enough.

that has offended her.

I was watching her one night after the debate where Kamala pulled her stunt, and it was amazing to me how much Joy hated Biden. She couldn't stand the sound of his voice, she said. She got some people on and they were talking about it and making fun of him for saying he thought he and Harris were friends, and talking as if Harris were some serious contender for the Presidency and implying Biden wasn't.

It didn't even seem rational.

I've always been ambivalent about her for that reason. She is a very bright, very strong woman with values that generally align with mine. There are too few voices like hers given high profile TV gigs. But she can integrate her own views into her commentary while passing them off as general wisdom and not owning up to the fact that she is actually pushing her own take on political reality.

I find it somewhat ironic that she is now raising the ire of Biden supporters who tended not to care so much when she showed her bias against Sanders.

I am not ambivalent about Reid because she has strong opinions. I am ambivalent about Reid because she uses her platform to advance her own strong opinions as "journalistic reporting" rather than owning them more directly as her personal commentary.
