The candidate that can re-assemble the Obama coalition should be the nominee

I'm talking about progressives, the young, the old, suburbanites, urban dwellers, Latinos, and African-Americans. In Obama, we had a nominee that won freaking Indiana in 2008.

Yes, we need enthusiasm, but we need enthusiasm in the right places. IIRC, Hillary had plenty of enthusiasm too, which is why she beat Trump in the popular vote. But the problem with Hillary is that didn't have enthusiasm among African-Americans and Latinos (particularly in Florida). Hillary had lines of voters in LA and NYC which did absolutely nothing. Because of the lack of black voters in the Midwest, we lost the EC and lost potential senate pickups like Toomey and Johnson.

Elizabeth Warren has that enthusiasm, but once again, are we setting up a similar situation where we're not getting voters in the right states? I don't see anything from Warren that would make older black voters sit in line for hours to vote in Detroit, Milwaukee, Charlotte, Tampa, or Gary, Indiana like they did for Obama. And for Warren, talking about scrapping Obamacare is not helping her with most black voters either as it's his main legacy achievement.

This is the key to beating to Trump. We need to get voters excited in the right places to win.

Is Biden the one? Well I think so due to his deep and long connections with black people, but he'll need an African American VP. If not, then maybe not. Are there other candidates? Maybe Harris could be the closest one.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

that we had for then Senator Obama.. we certainly remember all those long lines of POC lined up to VOTE(our most loyal Democratic base!).. and President Obama in 2012.. it was a lot closer due to so much ODS gaslighting.. but he came shining through.. in spite of Sanders saying in 2011 that he thought it was "a good idea to primary him" .

We got the Blue Wave Democratic House Victory in 2018 because of ACA HealthCare.. Nancy Pelosi's advice and it worked!

we did not have our fingers on the pulse oof the nation. Biden registers with the largest swathe of voters and passes the 'comfortability' test. Comfortablity is not the status quo, not the establishment, it is an electorate tiered of dealing with constant pummeling by Trump and the GOP senate.

On the other hand, I am tired of the charge that there is no enthusiasm for Joe! It is a false charge.

Joe can take them on, bring about normalcy in the sense that we can be assured without reading the news every day that things are eing worked out and the direction of the country is on course.

Warren has appeal in the Midwest as well s to progressives.

Harris can help bring in black voters, and is a fierce debater. Of course Booker would serve this role too.

Beta O'Rourke could deliver Texas after the shootings but alienate gun owners in key states.

Harris was my number two, but I was discouraged ny her attack on Biden. Now I cheer her "leave Joe alone" mantra. We need a broad bas to beat Trump, not a small coterie of enthusiastic voters (college educated, mainly white). I like Warren. She is strong, super smart, and knowledgeable, but I don't think she can beat Trump enough to overcome the electoral college advantage of th GOP. I also think senators running where they might be replcaced by Republicans is risky. I think Warren has a GOP governor who would appoint a Republican to replace her. Harris would be replaced by a Dem I believe.

The overly positive message (which was frequently contradicted by the candidate himself at the debates) just didn't work. What scares me is that, as I type, a handful of people with megaphones (for example, Killer Mike and Shaun King) are blaming all of mass incarceration on Joe Biden. It's crazy! Many young voters are taking their word for it.
