A recent poll found former Vice President Joe Biden's favorability has not been affected by the ongoing fallout from media coverage concerning President Trump asking the president of Ukraine to "look into" the 2020 Democratic presidential candidate.
A Morning Consult poll found Biden's favorability has remained stable after the news broke last week.
The poll was conducted from Sept. 23 to 29, starting after the Ukraine story broke and continuing amidst the announcement of an impeachment inquiry and the releases of Trump's conversation with Zelensky and the whistleblower complaint.
Biden's favorability has stabilized in the low-70s since the first debate in June.
The former vice president maintains the lead in the Morning Consult Democratic primary poll at 32 percent support, which is unchanged from the previous week. When narrowed to voters in early primary states, Biden dropped 3 percentage points from last week to 31 percent.
Biden tied for the highest favorability overall at 73 percent with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).
The president and his supporters have urged people to take a closer look at Biden's connections to Ukraine. Biden's son previously served on a Ukrainian gas company's board.

But theres little evidence that Biden has been significantly bloodied, according to a raft of new polls.
Story Continued Below
In more than a dozen state and national Democratic primary polls since Trump launched his near-daily fusillade of attacks accusing Biden and his son, Hunter, of corrupt business dealings in Ukraine, Bidens standing has remained largely static.
Theres nothing discernable to show Bidens been punched in the nose over Ukraine, said Tim Malloy, pollster with Quinnipiac University, which released a survey Tuesday showing Biden has lost no support from Democratic voters since its last poll released Sept. 25.

(19,038 posts)Joe or Warren beats Trump by 10 points. What you are seeing now is a 50-40 split consistently. 50% of the country will never ever vote for Trump, 40% of the country will vote for him no matter what. Of those 90% of voters theres almost no chance any of them will switch. The other 10% are the swing voters and theyre trending Dem. its just a different election.
I dont think youll see big swings in the polls at all. The versus polls match Trumps approval polls which match the impeachment polls. People have made up their minds.
