Here is a great letter from the Biden campaign to the New York Times

I love this letter to the NYT. I will not subscribe to the NYT due to the NYT coverage of Clinton last cycle and Biden this cycle

4. We should always remember that The New York Times

in the early 90s pushed the Whitewater scandal despite the Clinton's having been cleared of wrong doing in every investigation.

During the 2000 election Times Reporter Kit Seelye was hostile to Gore and even misquoted him in order to smear him as a liar.

In 2008 columnist Maureen Dowd repeatedly attacked and mocked Barack Obama calling him "obambi".

And is 16 they pushed the discredited "Clinton Cash" book as well as taking the lead on the emails story, often misleading and mis-characterizing facts causing them to later have to print corrections.

Now they are going after Biden starting with the highly inaccurate article by Ken Vogel back in May.

So what does the supposedly liberal New York Times have against Democrats?

5. Biden campaign slams New York Times for op-ed by conservative author behind Ukraine claims
Thu Oct 10, 2019, 01:53 PM
Oct 2019

As President Trump has lobbed unsubstantiated and false claims of international corruption at former vice president Joe Biden and his son, he’s often turned to one source for ammunition: conservative author Peter Schweizer. So when the New York Times ran an op-ed on Wednesday written by Schweizer about Biden and his son Hunter, the Democratic presidential candidate’s campaign cried foul.

In a letter sent to New York Times executive editor Dean Baquet, Biden’s campaign called Schweizer a “discredited right-wing polemicist” and suggested the op-ed was part of a larger pattern of “journalistic malpractice.”

“Are you truly blind to what you got wrong in 2016, or are you deliberately continuing policies that distort reality for the sake of controversy and the clicks that accompany it?” Kate Bedingfield, Biden’s deputy campaign manager, wrote in the Wednesday letter, which was posted by CNN’s Oliver Darcy....

In his letter to the Times, Biden’s campaign complains that the piece makes “more malicious claims about the Biden family.”

“Despite voluminous work done by the independent press and fact-checkers — including some by The Times — to refute the heinous conspiracy theory that Donald Trump attempted to bully Ukraine into propping-up for him, the paper ran an op-ed by none other than Peter Schweizer, making more malicious claims about the Biden family,” Bedingfield wrote in the letter.

Peter Schweizer (Clinton Cash) and his crew of scandal mongers. These are people who traffic in fringe conspiracy theories and accusations. As they did in 2016, the NYT has given a bunch of anti-democratic sleaze merchants a platform and microphone. You can't defend that under 'freedom of speech.' Not unless you want to hand the country over to a bunch of fascists.

I'm quitting my subscription to the NYTs today. Enough is enough!

9. Biden's campaign hammers The New York Times for spreading right-wing conspiracy theories
Thu Oct 10, 2019, 03:01 PM
Oct 2019

From the Daily Kos https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2019/10/10/1891479/-Biden-s-campaign-reminds-the-New-York-Times-just-how-much-they-ve-spread-right-wing-lies

The deputy campaign manager of Joe Biden’s presidential campaign has sent a letter to The New York Times taking it to task for the way that publication has covered the whole sequence of events in Ukraine. The letter can best be described as righteous. It not only delivers a completely justified kick to executive editor Dean Baquet over the Times’ “outsized hand in the spread of a baseless conspiracy,” but also reminds the outlet just how often, and badly, it failed in its reporting in the last election cycle: “We write to protest how little The New York Times has internalized the sobering lessons of 2016.”

Back in May, months before the term “whistleblower” began to dominate the headlines, there was still one place to go where mentions of Joe Biden and Ukraine frequently came together. At the beginning of that month, The New York Times was all too happy to serve as a mouthpiece for Rudy Giuliani, repeating his conspiracy theories about Biden’s actions and his son’s position. Times reporter Kenneth Vogel is now busily posting tweets claiming that he broke the Ukraine story, but only if that means that he dutifully repeated what Giuliani told him and repeated long-debunked claims. In fact, that article gets the basic facts of the story wrong on the two most critical points. It reports that Joe Biden acted at a time when the company where Biden’s son worked was “in the sights” of a prosecutor that Biden pushed to have removed, and that “the current Ukrainian prosecutor general [chose] to reverse himself and reopen an investigation.” Neither of these statements had any basis in fact.

There was no investigation into the company where Hunter Biden served on the board at the time of Joe Biden’s visit to Ukraine. And the prosecutor general had not reopened any such investigation.

The first of these statements was simply wrong, part of a long-debunked conspiracy theory put forward by right-wing elements at the time. But the second was worse, because it appears to have been nothing but a flat-out lie passed along to The New York Times, and dutifully printed, straight from the lips of Rudy Giuliani. Less than a week later, Bloomberg did what The New York Times did not—it sent reporters to Ukraine to investigate. And their very first report absolutely destroyed everything Giuliani and the Times were pushing.
